Anyone have any expeience with buydig.com?

I used pricegrabber to find the best deals on a few computer accessories and in some cases buydig.com was the cheapest retailer and they have free shipping. In some cases their prices seemed very cheap. Everything is listed as new and not refurbed. Does anyone have any experience with...

    Amd 939 Or Amd Am2?

If you're starting with a fresh build go AM2. It's not just the processor socket but with AM2 you can get DDR2 boards to run faster RAM.

    when is 8800 coming out

Is that the stock clock on the 8600GT, 745/1145? Because in that comparison chart they're running the 7900GT at stock clock.

If I want to play games which is most prefered to upgrade?

Yeah you have an E6300 in that HP, I'd build that. It already has 2GB of RAM so all you really need for gaming at that point is a good video card and a power supply to support it. For well under $500 you could make that HP a good gaming rig. Since you have factory HP BIOS you can't overclock...

    when is 8800 coming out

Are you talking about the 8600 line? Because the 8800 line is already out. They have the 320 and 640MB versions of the 8800GTS and a 8800GTX with I believe 740 something MB of memory...don't remember the exact number. If they have an 8800GT coming out I'm not aware of it.

    Resolutions affect gameplay?

Hi there...just out of curiosity you're running a 8800GTX with an E6600 and it was lagging badly at 1024x768? How much system resources does Guild Wars take up? I'd think with that set up you'd be able to run pretty much anything at 1280x1024. The reason I'm asking is the E6600/8800...

    nVidia 8500/8600 benchmarks arrived.

Not too bad but with a QX6700 pushing them nothing to write home about either.

    Post your video card overclock

See sig. It can clock higher but with a 4600+ what's the point. Last 3DMark06 I ran was 8858.

    AMD Dual Core Getting cheaper!!!

Intel is dropping the prices on the C2D soon...AMD wanted to be ahead of that. For what the X2's are going for I don't know if I can resist buying a 6000+.

To overclock, or not to overclock?

I'm sorry to interject but did you say they're making a patch for dual core for Flight Sim X?

Am I Gonna Have Problems? 8800gts

The GHz speeds are only relevant within the same family of processors. A Core 2 Duo @ 2.4GHz is a lot faster then a Pentium D @ 2.8GHz. The architecture of the C2D allows for far greater processing power at a lower speed then previous families of processors. An E6600 will be much, much faster...

Computer running a little bit hot

50 degrees isn't too bad but if it were mine I'd want it around 45. A Pentium D will run hot so 50 isn't off the chart though. I had a Pentium 4 650 OD'd to 3.7Ghz that ran 44 degrees under full load with the factory supplied CPU fan but with what INTELCRAZY said, lots of case fans, 4 to be...

    Problem Playin NFS: Carbon

Man I bought Carbon Friday night and installed it on my AMD rig and it did the same exact thing, the small Carbon screen would come up but when it went full screen it would just go black. Uninstall/reinstall wouldn't work. I brought it to work today and it installed fine on my other computer...

New Graphics Card not working as well as expected

You can try and get the core as high as possible but sooner or later you'll hit that dead end and it will become unstable. You'll see weird stuff on the screen, have screen freezes, ect. If you clock it too the moon it might crash immediately... I've done that a few times :D When you start...

Hooking up 4 optical drives to a motherboard with 2 IDE inputs

Yeah I don't need 4 disks for one single game, I want to load 4 disks for 4 different games so I don't have to swap the disks. I can keep 3 or 4 disks loaded and click the desktop icons to boot the game. The computer is not at a desk and disks seem to end up all over the place. I got all 4 in...

oh mr. core # 2, you're lazy and a slacker!

That's normal. The AMD dual core optimizer helps balance some of the stress to core #2 http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html I know what you're talking about about, my core #1 used to be pegged at close to 100% and #2 would barely be processing...

Hooking up 4 optical drives to a motherboard with 2 IDE inputs

Styrak, I know the optical drives are IDE and not SATA. Maybe I should word my question better. Even when you're using an SATA hard drive I believe you usually use the second IDE input for the optical drives, isn't that right? I remember when I was building this thing the motherboard book...

Hooking up 4 optical drives to a motherboard with 2 IDE inputs

Hello all, I am about to hook up four DVD-ROM drives to my rig (for games). I'm guessing I just take an IDE strap and go into IDE input #1 and another IDE strap and go into input #2. Is this correct? If so how do I set the jumpers? Do I set the first drive on each strap to master and the...
