    Well....

I think if you can afford a 22" screen then you should pay the extra bit for a 24" one. The native resolution of 22" screens are a tad under true 1080p resolution so if you intend to turn your computer into a HDTV then you will miss out but only marginally in terms of resolution. About playing...

SVA 24" 1920x1200 Cheap, but is it any good?

The specs are ok but nothing to write home about. Its definitely a budget monitor befitting its price range. I think its a reasonable price. Although its a big screen and all but the contrast is abit down not to mention the brand. You just have to be careful about after sales support. Also, its...

    Crysis Warhead - Video Review

WOW!!! Awesome, just one day till the US release. I can't wait to try out the new optimised Crysis engine. I agree with the reviewer how the original Crysis was abit slow at times but a 5 hour campaign is abit short. If that is true that would be less than the time I took to finish each half...

    When To Buy?

Most ATi cards out there is crossfire capable anyway. I think the most optimal time to buy is at least four to five months after a major release, to wait to see if there are any major problems with the card and also for the price to go down. If there are any major bugs or problems then you can...

    fan speed?....

Rivatuner does have limited support for ATi cards, but you are right it is more focused on Nvidia. I generally found that the automatic fan speeds is sufficient.

    Nvidia or ATI

You do have a point, but unfortunately we can not have both and that applies for graphics cards just as well as coffee or tea. In a perfect world we can get the best of Nvidia and ATi and merge them into one super card... Nvidia and ATi both have their respective strengths and weaknesses like...

    Dual 9800gt

Not to mention the massive power drain two cards running in Sli is. Just as a comparison I finished Crysis on an 8800GTS which has the same G92 core that is under the hood of your 9800GT and I was able to play the game in 1920x1200, with AA off and AS set to 4X. I had to overlock my graphics...

    Adapter

These adapters usually come with the graphics card. It came with all the cards that I have bought that required a 6 pin external power slot.

agp card and biostar p4m80- m4 problem

The north bridge is the link between the CPU, RAM, Graphics card slots (either AGP or PCI-E) as well as the southbridge. Bascially if that is malfunctioning then it means the rest of your computer will as well. If you say that the heatsink can be moved very easily then its quite possible that...

    Video Card vs. Onboard Graphics

Call of Duty is not that hardware intensive. If you want to get an idea of what future games would be like, take a look at Crysis, that game will stress even the best system and that is what your should benchmark against. Call of Duty can be played on the highest setting with most mid range...

    Enlighten me about video cards

    2. I was told ram is similiar to video card memory is this true? how, in simple terms, does a video card work? Umm, yes in a way that is true. Graphics cards have became so sophisticated now, you can think of them as a computer dedicated to graphics. The GPU is the central processing unit for...

    New Video Card

Yeah the 4850 or the 9800 should be suitable for that budget. If you want to overclock then I would suggest the nvidia card.

    Vista X32 to X64 upgrade?

Its definitely better to upgrade to X64 windows. Use the full potential of your CPU if its 64 bit enabled.

    Advice on a new card

Gee you have so much money to burn. If money is no object, then I would say, get the best and fastest. Get the 9800 GTX x3 and let it rip. Word of caution though, you have to overclock your Q6600 otherwise it will be the bottleneck of your system restricting the performance of your graphics...

    *****This is very weird*****

If you have a friend who has a PCI-E and is willing to let you test it out, then you should put that card in to see. Otherwise your card is most likely fried, so just go out and get a new one, the 8400GS is a budget card anyway, you can't really do much with that card.

Viewsonic VX2035WM and Nvidia 6150 LE with TV Tuner - got comp skillz?

I doubt you can fix the shadow, it would be something to do with your screen. By shadow, do you mean if you move your mouse over a black background you can see a white trail? I know there are other types of shadows but white moving against a black background is the easiest type to see.

which graphic card should I choose?

Yeah I totally agree with the previous comments, you should save up and build your own computer. Don't get tied down to a manufacturer, just built a standard one. You will get more bang for your buck. With your $50 voucher, get a printer, mouse or some other peripheral.

    Graphics for graphic

Most the graphics should do fine. Even the new integrated ones should be enough for graphic designing. Its only when you start editing videos and HD ones to boot do you really need some serious processing grunt.
