Whats the difference between these 2 Norton products?????

The obvious differences between the products in the 2 links (according to the box images): - One is an upgrade version, one is not (somewhat irrelevant to the question). - Performance Pack looks as though it includes "Full Version of Norton Utilities "

    Whats wrong with my firefox?!?!

a couple things to check: 1) File -> Work Offline ... (make sure it is unchecked) 2) If you use a firewall, check that you haven't accidentally blocked Firefox. (I had a friend do that once, and it took me quite awhile to figure out. Who blocks their browser???)

    Command Prompt Basics

Well, I guess you use it when the task at hand calls for it. But as tlarkin mentioned, get the hang of syntax and how the interpreter works first, then play around with batch files, which allows you to execute groups of commands by running just one command (calling the .bat file).

    Why do you use Unix?

Asking what's the best one is a good way to start a flame war  I started with SuSE, then Fedora, then Ubuntu, then Debian (plus experimented with tons of others on the side)...now I've used Arch for about 3 years and they say, once you use Arch, you never go back. I've found this to be...

    Why do you use Unix?

What I mean is that if your system is more stable, runs smoother and is more customizable and flexible, you surely will (or at least can) be more productive.

    Why do you use Unix?

But once you invest that 5-10 minutes and learn it, you can be so much more productive. What do you mean by "everything"?

    Command Prompt Basics

You can/would use a command prompt to perform almost anything you can do with a GUI, and some things you will have to do at the command prompt. Most GUI applications are either frontends for command line apps, or have and allow command line options. To open a command prompt: 1) Press WINKEY +...

Speakers crack during one game only

Have you messed around with the sound options for the game? I've never played the game, but I would think there should be sound options. That would be my first thing to try.

    Can't install the camera

Just a thought: Ensure that you download the 64-bit drivers is your OS is 64-bit, or 32-bit drivers if your OS is 32-bit. That's all I got without having the thing in front of me.

    No Word in start menu

@soccerfan547: 1) Open Windows Explorer (WINKEY + E) 2) Navigate to your Local Drive ( usually C: ) 3) Click on Program Files 4) Find the MS Office directory 5) Inside you should find the executables (I think winword.exe is probably still the Word exe) 6) Right-click the .exe and choose...

    Dlink Dir-655 Router Issue

I took a look at the D-Link website and there are a whole bunch of firmware downloads: 1) http://www.dlink.ca/products/?pid=DIR-655 2) click on "Support Resources" NOTE: There is a BIG RED warning for the 1.31 firmware that it CANNOT be downgraded. I know you have the 1.33 installed, but...

    Installing Ubuntu

You need to download an Ubuntu .iso image and burn it to disk or USB if you want to install OVER Windows. If you want to install it INSIDE windows you could try Wubi, but I have no advice on that as I've not tried it.

    What are good computer companies?

My advice would be that it depends on where you live, and if there is any service centres in your area. There will be nightmares with any company, and after working in a computer store and service centre, all major brands have about the same failure rate (not surprising since the brand just...

    About the term "PIRACY"

One issue I have with "piracy" or "prohibited copying" or whatever you want to call it...is that they (that ominous they that everyone is always talking about) want to compare it to theft. It's not theft. To use that comparison implies that you have taken something from them and that they no...
