i vote for the quad just cuz i have one myself and trust me, if u like to play cs:s and fear listen to music browse the web look at pictures edit pictures ... like i do then you would want the quad as well

firstly are you sure its a 6600? lol second. make sure the automatic oc isnt on, set it to manual or normal settings. .. hmm better yet.. it might be good to reset your bios(remove battery or however you wanna do it) it might be some setting you enabled without knowing or something

actually you should be fine.. and not experience that much system lag. i listen to music and surf internet and play counter strike while defragging.

it could be that he connected the power button wire witht he ground where the pwr side should be.. or in the wrong place.. or it could be he forgot to connect the 4 pin.. or 8 pin (which ever his mobo has((if any)) .. something like that

dont buy it from the apple store any frys electronics or other ram retailers have memory specifically for macs either laptop of desktop. .. i work at frys in the cage they keep all that in so i kno ;)
