    There are tools that can show you the files that hinders you. Or you can use some other tool to do it. Gparted can shrink and move files around. Remember to backup files you cannot live without.

    What is your fragmentation status? Vista can shrink, but cannot move data around, so it cannot do it beyond where there is data on the partition.

    That are some wise words. A backup is something that protects you from accidental deletes, virus, fire etc. A realtime mirrored harddware doesn't protect you from that.

    Your hardware is fixed at 4GB address space. So you are under the same restrictions as those running a 32bit edition of Windows. msinfo32/device manager can tell you in detail how the memory addresses are assigned.
