    the slowest write speeds of this generation's slowest SSDs are faster than a raptor's write speeds. the read speeds are much faster. anandtech has a great article about it that im too lazy to find.

    solid state drives are much faster than hard drives. your applications will load quicker, your computer will boot up faster, games load quicker, and according to multiple credible sources (like anandtech) it is the single most noticeable upgrade you can make to your computer

    i didnt say anything about moving an OEM license from one machine to another. i just said you could use a retail disk to reinstall the OEM software on the machine that has the OEM license... also, that is not really why OEM is cheaper.     sorry if this has been mentioned, but i didnt read all the long posts in the thread. sounds like it is overheating. when it shuts off, does the whole machine shut off or does it just reboot? check thermal paste and make sure the heatsink and hsf are properly installed.
