Default Windows 7 explorer.exe security permissions?

That could be an idea I guess. Does anyone else also have Windows 7 and doesn't mind sharing the permissions of their explorer.exe file? No need for the actual file, just the default permissions.

Default Windows 7 explorer.exe security permissions?

I'd like to revert back to the defaults after some changes I recently made. Mainly, I'm looking for the Type, Name, Permission, and Inherited From values. Thanks!

Hard-drives are constantly churning. How can I get them to just stop already?

Well, I switched USB ports for some things and now all is working just fine. One of the hard-drives wasn't recognized when booting before. Now it shows ok. Who knows. The issue seemed to go away by itself when I first purchased the laptop, too.

    New gaming Computer?

I have a Sager NP8662 and I've heard it's great for the money if you're looking for a portable. Games run great for me, and I can bring it wherever I go.

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

To update you, I upgraded to Windows 7 yesterday and the icon disappeared from the desktop. Whatever works I guess!

Hard-drives are constantly churning. How can I get them to just stop already?

Checked that earlier. It fluctuated, but nothing all that high. This laptop's a beast and should be able to take care of anything. :-/ Yep. Anything in particular I should be checking for in msconfig? Really appreciate the help everyone.

Hard-drives are constantly churning. How can I get them to just stop already?

Check and check. Earlier today and unchecked the index box for each external hard-drive. I did check task manager and nothing seems to really jump out. Everything is near 0%. I'm more than willing to work with anyone's suggestions as long as they're not a really bad hack. :-)

Hard-drives are constantly churning. How can I get them to just stop already?

Thanks. It happens while I'm actively using it, unfortunately. It seems to correspond to the mouse being jerky. I also tried disabling Avast. :-(

Hard-drives are constantly churning. How can I get them to just stop already?

I own the following hard-drives and two of the three won't stop churning (from what I can tell): * Maxtor OneTouch 4 Plus (churns) * Seagate FreeAgent (churns) * SimpleTech something or another I recently upgraded to Windows 7, although this has been happening since Vista. I'm on the Home 64...

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

There's no systray icon. :-( The only thing I can think of is to either leave it there and ignore it or uninstall the fingerprint scanner software. I guess it's no biggie if it permanently stays on my desktop, but it's just weird that the manufacturer does not provide a way to remove the...

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

It's a Sager NP8662. From what I've been researching, it may have come with the laptop. It did ask me to swipe my finger when opening for the first time after a while recently. Perhaps it came with the fingerprint scanner?

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

No, I'm not able to delete it period. And it's not listed under Add/Remove Programs in Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Screenshots: I don't care if it stays as a feature. I just don't want it on my desktop as an icon.

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

Anyone? :-( It just seems weird that I cannot remove an icon from my desktop.

Is the "Personal Safe" icon a Windows Vista feature?

I started up my new laptop for the first time last night and noticed a "Personal Safe" icon on the desktop. Problem is, I can't remove it. When right-clicking, there's no delete option. Is this a Windows Vista thing? Or perhaps something third party that came pre-installed? I've just spent...

Do all wireless adapters disconnect all the time?

Well, can't be low signal unless something in the house is blocking it. They've had this issue with a few adapters now. Thanks, though. Will check the antenna.

Do all wireless adapters disconnect all the time?

What would make a wireless adapter(s) constantly reconnect all the time, though? The wireless router not holding a signal? Some kind of wireless obstruction in the house?

Do all wireless adapters disconnect all the time?

It just seems that integrated WiFi like you find on laptops is way more reliable than some USB adapter or card you plug into a desktop PC. I have a client that's on a Linksys WMP300N similar to this one: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4107JNSQKHL._SL500_AA280_.jpg It continually...

Are USB hubs with more or fewer ports better?

Great. Thanks! Looks like I'll probably go the PCMCIA route then. I'll then be all set.
