I think that if you go to the hl2 folder you will find a folder with save files. Just copy those save files, reinstall and when it's done paste the files into the new save folder.

This is getting annoying. I have wireless internet and sometimes I will loose connection for a few seconds or so. Now this doesn't seem like a problem but it disconnects me from games, and when it disconnects me from cod4 I have to wait at least 15 min because it says keycode is in use...

The CPU you listed is actually the old version, it's the Windsor core. The CPU that we're talking about is Brisbane core, and it came out 2 months ago. The cache difference isn't big really.
