well I thought it should have lasted longer but oh well. I hope the new card fixes it otherwise I am not sure what it is. No way of telling if the MB or anything is bad at this point. Like I said before the only reason I thought it was the gfx card was that the monitor works with my Dell...
Thanks, why would it struggle in a year or so? Just from lack of updates or what? I know just enough to build the computers not enough to understand all the stuff behind the scenes.
well I wussed out and went with the ASUS 6670. I couldn't get myself to spend that kind of money for something I won't use. $89 to my door so I thought it was a good deal.
my board is a one slot wonder. So needing a nice card to do the work for the least amount of money. I see tiger direct still sales 9800 gt's for $50 but damn I want something that won't go bad or old on me.
Which one and why?

Cool, I did try both dvi slots and got nothing. That is why I hooked my monitor up with the same cable to my dell work station and my laptop ran my monitor fine. That is why I assumed it was a bad video card.
I am positive I will only play css. I would love to spend less but max was $150. I loved the 9800 gt and would hate to buy anything less in performance. Just need a card that lasts longer then 2-3 years.
Monitor started showing signs of video corruption and now it says no dvi signal. I plugged my monitor into my docking station with same cord and it works with my laptop. So I am guessing my bfg 9800gt is bad. Am I right?
What should I buy to replace my 9800 gt? I would love to stay under...
Well install went great. Windows is fresh and clean. Problem is my old HD seems to be shit. Says 70 GB is used but can't find any picture or it says I can't access it. What do I do now?
Great, so will the old HD have all my old info like pictures, music, videos? I will have to reinstall all my add on programs that I saved to my old hd?
Thanks for the help guys. Sorry that I am so lost.
I don't have the old system since it went poof. Would I be better off adding that HD as a slave and buying a new SATA HD and reinstalling XP to that? If that is the case do I need to change my boot sequence to show the DVD has #1 or just leave it as is and put the XP disc in and let it run...
Well as some of you know I tried building a new computer and the ASUS mb was DOA. So just got the new one in today and installed with the rest of my new gear. Now the computer posts and goes through its initial setup but I get the blue screen of death after that. The HD is the only used thing...
