    New build

If your going to be getting the new Fermi Nvidia card you'll need a power supply around 1000 watts. If you just get the 2 cards in your list already you should get something around 900 watts.

Help with purchasing a used computer...Specs inside

I wouldn't buy it at all. It's a part of the botnet thanks to the pirated OS. You could definitely build better for less (probably).

    It's not really a smartphone it's more of a playphone. It can't even multi-task.

    Toshiba P500 Slow Startup Win 7 64bit (4 Min)

Maybe you should delete some programs or go into there settings and disable the auto-start on start-up option. Windows 7 loads in seconds on my laptop and it's specs are not even close to yours.

Switch to integrated graphic card to save battery

Nvidia has developed technology (Nvidia Optimus) that lets you switch easily. It's going to be on the following ASUS laptops UL50Vf, N61Jv, N71Jv, N82Jv, and U30Jc models and the Acer Aspire One 532g. For now though you'll have to go into the BIOS and switch to integrated.

    Building a Custom Gaming laptop

Zulu is right there you should just invest in a gaming desktop instead of a laptop. The battery life on a system like the Alienware or any good gaming laptop can't be more than an hour anyway.

I have a Dell Studio 540 and it came with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 cpu and I was wondering if it would be a dumb idea to try and overclock it considering it has stock cooling?
