my mobo only supports SLI speed of 8X. does it make big difference from SLI 16X?

I think you'll find it'll switch to 8x when you have two graphics cards installed. As far as i know a single card will have 16x and the PCI express lanes get switched between the two slots in SLI. I think the benefits of two cards outweight the disadvantages them only having 8 lanes per card

    HDD size and height

nearly all notebook drives are 9.5 mm high; however some never drives with an extra platter are slightly thicker although the actual value escapes me

You could get yourself a USB notebook caddy and put the hard drive in there and plug it into any computer to get your data from. Very easily done and its always handy to have a caddy hanging around

    Memory Problem, need advice!!!

definately get some new ram for that unit; those unit can also support 2 gigs of ram just so you know. Also it would be quicker for you to perform a disk to disk recovery by pressing alt+F10 several times at the POST screen (or the acer screen you see when you first turn it on) this will invoke...

Is this normal? Laptop runs VERY slow on battery ...

yeah thats definately normal behaviour for the 3680 machines, in fact only the older acer units dont slow down when you switch over to battery; you can adjust the speed of the unit by changing the power profiles in the acer epower management software.

    BIOS password

try looking under the ram or wireless cards, you're looking for two metal contacts on the pcb to short out for about 10 seconds... i would remove the unit's battery as a precaustion though

Top reasons of why a laptop slows down?

well he could do with actually fully shutting the unit down once in a while, i still think that hibernation is one of the more pointless additions to windows and is only useful when your battery is running low. I would also imagine that the unit could do with a reinstallation of windows after...

    X2 overclocking problem...

sounds like you dont have your multipliers locked on your mainboard and the higher FSB frequency is sending your sata controller haywire. If you do have your multipliers locked there is a known issue with some chips that the multipliers dont work properly at all frequencies; try pushing past the...

My ACER Aspirer 5670 Blank Screen problem

sounds like a definate mainboard problem to me, if you're under warranty go get it fixed, if not you'll get ripped for the cost of having it fixed and the over the top cost of the part to be fitted.

if the screen is scrambled and is shutting down on it own then it sounds like the graphics chip has overheated/failed.

    Laptop Making odd noise.

its possible that the fan on the unit is causing the problem as the fan has some play it may have drop and is rubbing on the casing of the fan unit. i've also heard hdd's making a high pitched noise also; you may want to perform a full disk check on the unit as a sector scan isnt very comprehensive

    laptop fan

modern notebooks get very hot before they shutdown; i've seen machines get so hot that the plastic has melted. I would seriously look at getting the fan sorted out. Also, be sure to find out that the warranty only applies in america or whether you can transfer the warranty to where ever you live
