Dont forget that Windows doesn't save a dump file in the case of a BSOD if the page file is not on the system drive. Can be a nuisance if you get one.

I had this issue as well. the sides were missing. Catalyst control centre had a scaling option so just had to turn it down a notch. You should be able to find similar software to achieve this

its unlikely that a laptop with a 1 gb module will accept a module of 4gb. but the maximum ram your laptop will take depends on the motherboard. go here: http://www.crucial.com/ run the system scanner tool and ram modules with compatible speeds, sizes etc. will be recommended

Ok, so I had time over the weekend to sort this out. The problem was with my SSD. I moved it to the marvell controller and the difference is huge. Dirt 2 is smooth as silk now. I reinstalled windows as well. I have 3 HDD's and 2 optical drives so I reckon the intel controller was suffering...

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go for the HD 6790. Found one for 110 euro. Was gonna get a gtx 550 ti but it was more expensive. Should have no problem getting high fps with this card. My tv is 60 hz so should easily achieve this with AA turned on.
