    Lenovo Y50

I don't want a 4k monitor for gaming, I'll play at 1080p. 4k with touch will be insanely awesome for productivity and all other media that isn't gaming. If I want to game in 4k I'll get a desktop with a pair of 290X's.

    Which laptop is better? I'm a n00b :)

Discrete graphics can mean less battery life, but the i5 in the Asus is a newer Ivy Bridge with a much smaller power draw. But, the Toshiba has a battery 50% larger. That will end up being more or less a wash. The Asus is thinner, but heavier with a larger screen (with the same...

    vga and HDMI

if your vga truly supports 1080 resolution that it should support what u have. i dont know if 1920x1080 monitor is 16:9 (im too drunk to do math or even use calculator) but if it is then it is the common resolution for hd video and it should be fine.

    Power supply for CPU

if your simply replacing the CPU (/mobo) you should be fine with that PSU depending on the other parts your running. But, it would be a good idea to buy a better psu to protect your investments. for ~$30 you can buy a solid PSU that will run any single GPU system, and I would sugest doing that.
