    external/internal use

Interesting... I feel a lot better about investing in a bigger drive in the future if the need arises.

    external/internal use

What if you have the right cables to connect the drive to your motherboard?

    external/internal use

Hey all, been awhile since my last visit. This may be a rather obvious question, but can you use an external hard drive as an internal one? I'm seeing on newegg some 4tb externals sold at approximately 1/5th the price of a same size internal. It got me thinking why not just convert the externals...

Why would you need so many onboard USB ports?

I got webcams, digital cameras, external drives, flash drives, wifi connector, gamepads, etc. Those ports definitely get some use believe you me.

    Video Card

They're selling 7 models of 6850's. Also, if you're motherboard supports 2.0 but the card is a 3.0 - your motherboard can't take advantage of all the bandwidth so it will just run it at 2.0 instead.

    Which Route for GPU Choice?

I'd go with the 6950 of those two.

    LED vs non LED

Power saving is almost always worth it. You may pay a little more now, but it pays itself back by saving on the energy bills over a long period of time.

How do I know if a video card is compatible with a MoBo?

If your motherboard has a pci-express lane any pci express video card will work with it. pci-e 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 are bandwidth related; so if your motherboard supports a lower number than your card has, the motherboard will downclock it to the speed it supports. The performance differences are not...

Why are there so few 4GB gpus

Different architecture, not really gaming cards. I think the reason workstation cards are so expensive is because they are designed solely for the purpose of major graphic design among businesses - the people using them are involved in a lot of expensive but high gain projects which more than...

Slight problem with my GTX 680..

Have you tried using google chrome? Tends to auto-update flash players, could eliminate the problem you're having with ie9. That browser always felt slow and old, I can't imagine what the appeal is still using it. When I switched to chrome it was a vast improvement.

EVGA GTX 670 vs GIGABYTE GTX 670

If EVGA made radeon cards i'd go with them in a heartbeat. They have not only lifetime warranty and special trade in programs, but 24/7 customer service. A tough company to beat, that's for sure.

    Gigabyte HD 7850 OC... unimpressed

You never mentioned what you're using to cool it? I realize you expect to see good results on air, but what air cooling are you using exactly? Also, if you're dealing with a pre-overclocked card, it's not going to be as easy to do as it would be with a reference. The thing about pre-overclocked...

    Flipping Computers for Profit

So.. You wanna be con-artists and get advice on how to do it? That seems illegit, just a tad. Unless you're getting a good deal on parts, or have something to bring in a lot of customers I wouldn't expect those kinds of numbers off the bat. Until you get established, it's best to sell on a build...

    Is this a monitor problem?

Check your case, your video card might be loose or a cable might be out of place. It's happened to me a bunch of times, and it's a relatively quick fix. Make sure it's firmly in the slot as well as the monitor cables. Sometimes it can shake loose if you move the desktop around a bit or your leg...

HD 5870 CrossFire - Ideas, suggestions, comments please!

If you're going to get rid of your case as well as your power supply, you have other major priorities to handle before doubling up on 5870's anyway. You'll need a fairly good psu of high voltage, as well as a rather large case because these are no small cards that you can just throw in any old...

HD 5870 CrossFire - Ideas, suggestions, comments please!

Personally i'd rather have one card than two. Less heat, space used in case so more air flow, power usage, cables, more games support single cards than crossfired/sli'd ones, etc. This doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad idea to get a second card though, because you can save the second for when...

HD 5870 CrossFire - Ideas, suggestions, comments please!

5870's are already 2 generations behind - bad. Why the heck would you still have it years from now and be trying to max it? Even if it's somehow still functioning like 6 years after release, I can't see how it would be a good idea. Driver support would probably be in the toilet and even a...

    Case usb issue

Tried it on the motherboard's i/o and it still didn't recognize the device. Really strange cause this is a new controller. Second one i've fried in the last 2 months.
