Yes it is high performance mode, and I haven't had it running long enough for it to heat up. But I don't think I've removed any old drivers, how would I go about doing that? Maybe that's the problem.

I am running it on the lowest possible settings, I lowered them all after it intially froze from running on medium settings. And yes it chugs all the time, the intro cutscenes were terribly slow and the tutorial gameplay is barely playable.
