Your Thoughts on the Upcoming Medal of Honor Game (Not Gameplay)

i don't necessarily think that the campaign part of the game is over the line but i do however see their point about the multiplayer mode where you can play as the taliban (although i don't personally think it should be banned or boycotted).

in a respectful, mature manner, feel free to discuss your thoughts on the subject.

It doesn't really bother me. The only reason people get offended is because it's happening now and I don't see why that matters so much. Yes it's happening and it's wrong but so was World War 2 and I bet no fuss would be made if yet another World War 2 game came out.
 
Considering I have family currently there and have tried to join up myself (bad knee snapped during boot) I have no issue with the game or the ability to play the enemy. Personally I want the option on the US side of the game to dip my bullets in pig blood so they don't get their 40 digital virgins.
 
So you can play as the US, and Russian terrorists but anything taliban is taboo? :rolleyes:

I just think people make an issue of it to get attention.

How is playing as the taliban fighting Us/whatever forces any worse than the opposite? all depends on your point of view.

Anyway i'm waiting for some reviews on the game.
 
I tend to agree with linkin (I just think people make an issue of it to get attention ) nothing was said about GTA or BFBC2 also APB they are in the same league.It's just a game.
 
I don't have a problem. War is war. Terrorist are terrorists. The Taliban is one of many enemies the US has had. Would it be taboo to make a game about war, and use fake terrorist cells?

Regardless though, I am done buying COD rehash clones. Unoriginal and boring. That franchise needs to die along with Halo so something new and fresh can come out.
 
Honestly i don't care, plenty of games allow play as the enemy. Look at all of the WWII shooters that allow play as WWII Germany, perhaps one of the worst enemies the US has faced, and rarely is anything said about that.

I agree especially when it came to Hitler's Jew killing campaign. WWII doesn't even remotely come close to what we are calling "war" today. More people died in the first hour of the Invasion of Normandy then the past 5+ years combined in the middle east "wars".

Though personally the war against the Taliban would have been short lived if we had done it right. Day 1 would have killed 100-300 members and made a public execution with pork laced bullets...then bury them in pork encrusted graves with a pig guardian statue on top of them. This might be cruel to some but go read the Koran and you will see the real face of the enemy we face. Its been proven in the past to be effective and it will put the fear of God in them when there is no paradise after death.

as many hours as i've put into those games, and as much fun as i've had with them, i tend to agree with you. they're all about marketing and hype now, the game play however has stayed virtually the same for title after title.

also in regards to the OP, i lean towards what linkin pointed out. it just seems to me people are really going out of their way to fuss about something.
 
I don't see the problem. CSS depicts real terrorist groups but as far as I know nothing has been said about that.
 
I've seen many games, as you have all pointed out, where you are killing Americans, while they are not Taliban, they are still terrorists. Yes, it is bad that they want us to kill Allies IMO, but more people obviously enjoy having more than one team they can be on.
I still think it will be a pretty good game, although have not seen many beta gameplay videos or anything.
Pretty much why I play America's Army 3, you are the US Army, no one else.

Is America's Army 3 realistic? As in do they kill more allies than enemies like in recent times? :o
 
I have to say, this is what people need to understand sometimes, A GAME IS A GAME thats all it is, and if someone doesnt like it im sorry but whther this game is made or whether its not, war is war and people are still going to die, and another thing all this bullshit about people learning from games i qoute "and this game is going to be released in October - so families who are burying their children are going to be seeing this, and playing this game." THIS comes down to an issue of parenting, i mea if its so bad dont buy it! god some people are just stupid, also im not insinuating that people will die in my earlier comment i was just saying in aspect to war..i respect all the brave men fighting for heart and country
 
Your always going to have people trying to "protect the children." I say screw all of them. These "children" who have lost their fathers in the midst of war should not buy the game, and don't even say "wives" yes, I know there are women gamers, but I just don't see them buying the game.

Personally, I believe GTA is a much more harsh game than Medal of Honor, but even if they do ban it, it won't affect me, I have no intention of buying the game anyways.
 
There will always be someone to complain about something if it's not games it's the weather.They see all kinds of bad things on their TV but they still watch the crap.They need to get a life of their own and leave everybody else to theirs.Killing has gone on for thousands of years and will keep on going as long as people are greedy for some one else's property.
 
seems to be a pretty one sided debate :P

i definitely agree with the comments about parenting. if you don't want your kids playing games that are offensive or graphic, don't let them play it.

the examples comparing the settings of the games are great guys. anyone think of any others?
