Black ops and the cpu?

How cpu intensive is Black ops?. i have the minimum required cpu for it but does that mean i will get bad performance or is it not that heavily dependant on cpu?

also with my computer (in my sig) whqat setting would i be playing on? Ultra low or medium? :/
 
Medium - low, more on the medium side depending on resolution. BLOPs isn't massively CPU intensive, but it is coded so badly that it requires much higher specs than it would actually need had time and effort been put in, but hey, you are talking a CoD game, you aren't going to see either time or effeort ;)
 
lol, id probably say blops has the best campiagn, and best multiplayer options, but i hate the maps they are rubbish, complete and utter crap. if it werent for the badly designed maps i would love it.

but then again, its the same price as modern warfare 2 and for the extra options im inclined to get it

although on the xbox it got a lot more boring than mw2 did so i dunno wether to just go for that

CoD4 still has a hell of a lot more players than both MW2 and blops combined on PC, and rightly so imo, where as the number of players playing MW2 and BLOPs are reducing
 
yeh i like MW1 but i like the options in mw2

i think ill not bother with blops again, and just get mw2. its just a pain in the arse thats its still £21 :/

then again mw1 was £20 and that was only last week
 
As Aasti says, Black ops uses way too much of the CPU. You won't run it smooth on a dual core, that's for sure. I know this cause I've tried it. It's a big disappointment, since the previous game(MW2) only needed a single core to run, and the graphics in both of those games isn't a major difference.

I would stay away from MW2. I still play it and the servers are kinda dead for any games other than TDM and HC TDM. It is not worth the money.
 
hmm, i think i may take the plunge and get blops, if i dont like the mp i know i still love the sp so i geuss its worth the £25 Game wants :S
 
haha aastii. almost sound like a fan boy. I agree cod4 was where the quality took a slide, but, without mods it just lacks in features. I'm hoping mw3 will be where its at, by the time it rolls around.

I agree that on paper CoD4 has less features, however, it executed them much better than any since have done. As for mods, it is that which which keeps it going so well now, same with CoD1 and CoD2 and it is what the majority of people still playing Waw are playing, and I don't think that is a bad thing
 
@ salvage---iv had both for xbox but iv just moved over to a pc and would like to get one or the other...did they add dedicated servers back into blops?? i think thats the make or break for me here

greatly envy that rig :/ lol have fun on blops and let me know how multiplayer plays as im stuck between blops and mw2

i really cnt make up my mind
 
lol...k will do. Hopefully soon i will get another 6850 to crossfire :D cant wait...but dont need it for now...if you do get blops, well have to game somtime! :D
 
yeh sure man, probably wont get it for a while though :/ just bought homefront and the missus will kill me if i splash out for another game

(i am getting crysis 2 though)
