Okay so basically I'm kinda new to gaming pc's but I want to switch from xbox 360 to pc and I don't know what type would be best for me. The main reason I want one is to play nba 2k11 (http://2ksports.com/games/nba2k11/) on max settings with no lag or anything like that. Other than the occasional first person shooter or other games that's pretty much the only game I play. If anyone can point me to some good pc's and the type of processors and graphics cards and stuff I should be looking for when shopping for a pc it would be appreciated.

If you give some idea of how much money you want to spend it would help alot.:)

Probably $900 at the very most but something cheaper would be nice. I've found a lot of pc's on amazon for around $500-$700 but i don't know if one of those would let me play on max settings. I'm a noob when it comes to gaming computers but I'm trying to make the switch without making a bad purchase.

Why not build your own? It is no different to putting together a model, or flat pack furniture, or anything else with a few parts.

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157230

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231190

Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152244

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371047

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130660

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216

DVD Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135224

OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116983

Total: $899

That is right on your budget, and is the best you are going to get given the budget, however you can cut down, but expect either less quality, less performance, or both:

Case - Drop down to:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146059

CPU - Go for a lower clocked, locked processor:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074

but for the price difference between that and the 2500k, it is worth the extra imo.

Motherboard - if you decide to go for the 2500k CPU, do not swap motherboards, however if you do not go 2500k, swap to:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130579

and you can save some money there.

Video Card - You could drop down to:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625

and you would probably be able to still play on max, however if you are playing at 1080p or higher resolutions, it may not be able to push that many pixels, and you will probably see a performance decrease , enough to make you have to drop some settings

You didn't tell us how tall you are, or your size, how should we tell you what PX will fit you?

xD :P JK.
