There's a thread for Battlefield 3 so I figured why not one for Call of Duty.

Which Call of Duty's are you guys still playing and on what console?

What's the latest achievement, level or gun unlock have you gotten?

Have you guys heard any news of new map packs coming out or heard any rumors of what's coming next November?

I stopped at MW2. Just went on a few days ago and played a round, 20-3 :P. It's so easy compared to Battlefield 3.

Same, I stopped at MW2, didn't even get the map packs. The game is too easy, full of bugs, and re-released every year. I decided my 60$ should go towards developers who actually care about their games :). Like Bastion. That's good stuff.

I bought MW3 and sorry if this offends anyone, but complete waste of money. I paid $37 for it and after playing campaign, hated it. Online, not too great either. I felt as though there was a lot of repetition from MW2 and Black Ops.

I honestly stopped believing that new age shooters will get better. Every game now is Russian enemies and same city scenarios where the enemy is trying to take over America. Oh, and don't forget about the Middle East, also boring.
 
There is a thread way back there somewhere. But yeah, I played it on my roommate's xbox and it's MW2 with different maps, guns, and perks. Not paying that much for an expansion pack.
 
I play MW3 and I like it. I like the addition of Drop Zone in one of the later updates. It's non-stop chaos in that game type. I'm hoping they add other community games in public matches.

I want to play CoD4 and WaW again but I heard the console versions are hacked really bad. I play on PS3 btw.
 
Not sure about cod4, but yeah, WaW is unplayable on the xbox. Why not get it for PC? Those still are my 2 favorite.
 
I still play cod4 daily and competitively and it is still by far the best in the series. I got mw3 the other day as it was very cheap (new and legit) and whilst it is fun to jump in at any time for a quick game it is so. flawed.

all games are too short, the games are too easy but there are major balance issues and problems with weapon damage, gameplay and looks are pretty much identical to mw2, people still cry far too much and the lack of proper dedicated servers stops you from doing anything. there are a lot more things but not typing it all on my phone :P

In short I don't mind getting it for the price I did but if I had paid any more I wouldn't be happy. good thing I knew. what I was getting into, it is cod after all, only the extreme. fan boys think anything has really changed since 4
 
What I hate about MW3 are the grenades, launchers (against infantry), and shotguns feel weaker.

Ex. the enemy team is defending the headquarters, I launch a SMAW rocket all of them should be dead right? No. I get hitmarkers. So what I do is launch a SMAW and follow it up with a C4.

And shottys don't kill in 1 shot even up close. WTF!?

I think this is either a prelude to a planned war (make them seem bad by desensitizing the public to their deaths), or a overhang from the cold war. The russians in the games aren't communist (that I know of), so the last is not realy feasible.


As for the game, I haven't played MW3 yet, but I really didn't like MW2 and Black Ops that much. They seem like the same thing over and over. I am getting it from Gamefly though, just to see how the story ends.

This is the big issue I have too, I have found that the only time I ever get a kill is either after throwing some damage on them, or if the nade is directly over their feet. The shotgun thing is just awful, it makes them totally useless, and if you play on hardcore it is nothing but campers everywhere.

How much is it from there? If you plan on getting it give me a shout, will give you links and what not to where I got it, was ~£16 instead of £40 for PC
 
eh, its a $8.99 a month deal. They send you the game, you play it as long as you want and send it back then you get the next game on the list. Its like Netflix for xbox.
 
playing cod4 now, promod mostly. planning on getting MW3 sometime.

i like rushing alot, i used to be all sneaky sneaky and now im look KILL ALL TEH PPL! but im learning to scope now too

Except with Netflix, you finish a movie in 2 hours and you're ready to send it back... with Gamefly, you get it in the mail, you play it for at least half a month, and it may or may not be sent back to them within the same month. If my stereotype is accurate, they oughta be making a fortune.

I love using the Mk14 on Hardcore Mode.
 
MW 3 is best than the other games because this game has much better animation graphics and also characters also game tools.It realize the real thunder of war.To play this game is a fame.The most modern graphics this game has.
 
you have no idea what you are talking about. The game still has the same graphics engine as COD4. The only thing that has changed is the art being displayed. The gameplay is essentially the same as it has been since COD4.
 
Playing MW3 atm. The best one since 4 imo. My only real complaint about it is the map design. The maps all kinda suck imo.

MW2 I HATED on PC, but it was good on consoles. All my big issues came from Steam, no dedicated servers, IWnet, ect.

Black Ops flat out sucked imo. I thought the same about WaW til I got into it, then I loved it, but the Treyarch CoD's don't feel like CoD.

If I still had a gaming PC I'd be switching between 4 and MW3 quite a bit.
