I got my dad to buy me Grand Theft Auto San Andreas when it first game out, its just a game. Unless you are like 10 and see some guys brain ripped out of his arse or something :P

Lol, ever played crisis? Scared the Sh!t out of me. Well, not the whole game, just the part where you're in the no gravity place, The rest was just hilarious to play.

Dude, that has got to be the best face palm/ slap I have ever seen.

Its not against the law, they are guidelines, if your parents allow you too then its up to them!+ If it was, whos gonna go round houses seeing whos playing games they shouldnt be when murders+thefts are occuring.

EDIT: It may be different in america..
Also i thought of super meat boy as well :P

ESRB ratings are not legally binding they are merely guidelines for retailers and for people buying games for minors. You can get yourself an ao game and you can legally own and play it and your parents won't get punished for getting the game for you

To make clear about buying mature from store or steam. If kid's parents don't want kid to buy mature but kid just buy it anyway. Their parents can sue agaisnt steam or store (like best buy) for responsible that one of worker has sell mature video game to kid if both parent want to. I live in USA and my dad is retire police. It is not illegal for seller to sold mature video game to kid but parent can still sue store.

:o

Okay maybe not. I was just thinking since Shogun 2 is the most demanding thing I own. But it's 30 bucks. Still it's not exactly light on your computer. And considering Byte's specs it wouldn't be maxed.

Get morrowind, and then install this mod on top of it.
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=8987
It'll scale from using as much or as little that you give it. For instance, it has settings that are only runnable on a overclocked i7 with a gtx 560 or higher

lol, I made a mod for skyrim...
You need a beast to play it and not blow up :P
Created a huge world, with like 1000 creatures init...
I played it, entered the world... nothing, went forward... then BAM 1000 creatures on the same place and game was stuck :P.
Now I know how difficult it is to make your game playable if you want to create something nice :O xD

And they will get nothing but as bill for their legal fees because the guidelines are just that, guidelines, not law. It is a parent's responsibility to enforce whatever restrictions on what games their child can pay that they want, not the retailer, so the retailer is not liable

Right. Can't getting retailer to liable unless it found by judge. I had heard so many dumb sue at anything on news or people tell a story. Like someone had sue McDonald when it is their fault and not McDonald's problem, and other thing where people sue other store.

No sane judge will ever find the game retailer guilty though, it will be the same as that McDonald's case you mentioned. People have tried to sue McDonald's and other fast food retailers saying that it is their fault they are fat, however they were not force fed the food and the health risks are well known, meaning people are able to make an educated and unforced decision on what they choose to buy and eat.

In this case, nobody is forcing the child to buy the game, nobody is forcing the parents to give the child money for the game, there are systems in place on computers and on Steam to prevent children from buying or playing games that the industry advises are not for their age range or should not be bought for them, there are clear guidelines given in the form of the logo's stating the age range the game is aimed at and if a parent then decides to give the child access to both sufficient money to buy the game and the ability to play the game, it is their fault.

It is like trying to say that a parent can sue every TV channel in the UK for broadcasting content aimed at adults after the 9 o'clock watershed because their precious child saw some boobies and heard a few swears. The information that content after 9PM is unrestricted (nearly, you can't have hardcore pornography for instance) is well known and a parent can make an informed decision about what their child can watch and when they can watch it.

That is also a good comparison because it is not illegal for a child to watch TV past 9PM, in the same way it is not illegal for a child to play a video game rated M or 18 and the bill payer is not at fault if they choose to not prevent the person under the recommended age from experiencing such content
