I have an issue with the DVD player in my Dell Inspiron. I am digitizing my DVD collection. When I insert a DVD to rip it with the software I have the DVD drive spins up and reads the disc. The software shows the correct title of the disk, so does windows file explorer. I can rip the disc and maybe three or four others. Then when I insert another disc at some point. Both File explorer and the ripping software do not recognize the newly inserted disc for what it is.
Example. I rip three movies. Then I rip The Meg. I eject the Meg and insert The Deer Hunter. The software and Windows file explorer still show that The Meg is inserted in the disc drive. and I can't rip The Deer Hunter. The software gives me an error saying the right disc isn't inserted. The video player I use (5k play9er) will read the disc, show that it's The Meg, but still play the disc with no issue.
The drive still spins up and functions normally, I can hear to running as if it's reading the newly inserted DVD.
I'm at a loss for what's going on. I'm running windows 10 home, it's up to date, I checked the drivers, they are up to date, and I did a total reinstall of the ripping software. the problem still persists.
Anyone have any ideas? any help would be greatly appreciated.
