which should have a C2D and SLI or Crossfire

I wont be able to get as good as performance as a desktop, but its damned close

eh, a 3k desktop would whoop the living daylights out of that laptop. I mean a 1.5k desktop would beat it, nevermind a 3k.

yes, but the laptop is a much better choice, but like i said, a newer version of that laptop when it comes out, like when they start puttion C2Ds in them and SLI in laptops become more mainstream

Well if you need portability or you're very low on space, then the laptop would be great. But if it's just gonna sit there all day, i'd much rather have a desktop.

Yeah i agree,If i had that kind of money to splash out on a comp it would definatly be a Desktop.

Although its your money so you can do as you please with it.

Does look a realy good laptop though.
Cant you get Core2Duo laptops?

not yet AFAIK

i probably wouldn't do it. I know its tempting, but what you are buying is basically a desktop computer with a huge battery strapped to it.

you are gunna really wish u would have just bought a smaller pc......atleast i am since i have a 17" I9300.

the preformance is great, but i wish i would have gotten a desktop and an ultraportable laptop.........

look at these if u want a laptop:

naw, my old laptop with the 15.4" Widescreen wasnt good enough for me, i like big, i dont care about portability....

How much will the C2D and SLI laptop cost exactly? Because for around $1500 you can build a Dell Inspiron with 2GB of DDR2, C2D 2Ghz, and a 7900GS.

ya i forgot to mention the dells there. 17" XPS model along witht he 17" inspiron are both very good laptops spec. wise, and you save a lot with the dell coupons they always have.....along with getting your own memory off of newegg.

yeahh, if i want a top - of - the laptop, and got money 2 spend, im getting a XPS, i like the design..

Why not get an ultraportable laptop and a desktop? You'll get more performance where you need it, and more portability where you need it.

I'll be keeping my desktop, but im talking about my next complete purchase...

i dont want to take my computer to LAN parties, and i dont want to take a 12" laptop to one either...

but i want a 20" LCD with RAID-0, SLI, 12 cell LI-ION battery. and a C2D

That defeats the purpose of a laptop. It would be extremely heavy and huge, not to mention you'll get about 15 minutes of gaming out of the battery, and with a 20" LCD dont expect more then an hour.

Dude, you need to really reconsider your computer purchases.

By the way, how would you carry a laptop with a 20" screen? That would be an insanely huge case.

not with a battery back, and i can plug it at a LAN party, can i can still do my schoolwork on it.... who plays games while driving?

If you get that big of a laptop, you'll find that it can only be used on a desk. And given that the battery would only last an hour or so, it's not something you want to use as a portable computer, not to mention having a 20+" laptop would be very hard to carry around school, and it will be very heavy.
