I was banned from a server for being accused of hacking, which I wasnt. I just wasnt liked by the admins and they banned me.

When I get a new css game pack, install it on a different computer, can I connect to that server?
Like, my desktop/main css acount, is connected to a router that provides wireless and ethernet. If I connect a new account on a different computer on that wireless router, and other wireless hotspots. Can they find out its me?

Cause I liked that server, it was 16k money, no gravity. Fun.

Ftw, I was not hacking...

Thanks

if u buy the game u have to make a new account so yes it will be fresh and u can play on the server, they could check ur ip but doubt they will use a dif name

Sorry, slightly off-topic, but how is your computer for gaming g4m3rof1337?

You have the exact components I'm getting, well except the RAM. How is it? Thanks :)

PM?

I would think it would depend on the server, and how they ban people. If they have blocked your IP, then I would think it might be harder to connect again.

They have different methods of banning. They either ban you temporarily, ban you by IP (in which case a new css game wont work), or they ban your steam ID.

If it was a server ban by the admin, then you just won't be able to connect to that server with the same account. If it was a Steam ban, you won't be able to play any Steam game online, ever, with that account.

Also, if you make a new account, you will need to buy the game again, since game CD keys are tied to your Steam account.

Theres a big difference between being Steam banned and being banned from a server. A server cant Steam ban you.

And I believe he was asking if he can play again if he bought another copy.

How could anyone ban a harmless little lemon strapped to a rollerskate? That's just cruel.

:D

Kornowski, plays css very well. Also, handles anything i throw at it.

And itd be a new account on a new computer.
But when I play on that server on the new account/computer, they cant check me through the router i use?

Thanks

Most likely the ban is either a temporary ban or is a Steam ID ban. But if they banned you via IP, then even if you bought a new copy of CSS and used it on a different computer, if its using the same ISP then you cant play.

so...
It'd the same IP on two different computers. Or near the same?

If thats the case, Ill just play it on a different router.

if its using the same ISP then you cant play.
Woa, not quite. An IP ban means 1 IP can no longer play on that server not the ISPs entire range. If you have a static IP (ie your ISP uses cable and your IP rarely, if ever, changes) then an IP ban will keep you off the server permamently. If you have a dynamic IP (DSL, dialup, etc) then an IP ban is useless.

Thanks for saying that, I don't knwo why no one else mentioned it. And you can get a new IP from Cable, just call up and ask for a new one. :)

Sorry, thats not what I meant at all, ISP wasnt the right word.

What I meant to say was that you cant use the same Internet (ISP as I said) that you are using when/if you were IP banned, since they would all have the same external IP.

If you have a static IP assigned from your ISP, then you will have to get it either changed, or play on other networks.

Ah ok I understand what you are trying to say. You can't be on the same intranet (ie. just switch internal addresses assigned by your router/switch). Again though, if you have a dynamic IP then you just have to wait for your IP lease to expire and you will most likely get a new address.

You don't need a new computer, just a new steam account. It also means you have to buy the game again. Sounds like a pain just to play on 1 server again, there are plenty out there why not go to them? I know they don't necessarily have the settings you liked on that server but I'm sure there's one out there that is close.

Well. I also want another account for when my friend comes over. So he doesnt have to play on my computer.
I am getting a laptop, i ordered it today. So...

Plus...I want another account and computer for when I host a server on my desktop.

Thank You.
