flight sims ?

so what it is is i am looking to get a combat flight sim i have combat flight 3
and ive looked at lock on but i was wondering if there are any new games coming out in that general genre
ideally i would like to be flying fighter jets but prop planes might do
so are there any games even in development or that have a release date or any thing cuz i cant find one :confused: :confused: :confused:
 
IL-2 sturmovik, its probably the best flight-sim game. It's about 95% realistic, and has single and multiplayer.

yeh i really wanna find a good flight sim game for helicopters (or at least with with a good choice of helicopters included) too, and preferably with some combat fighting involved!

a helicopter is an amazing machine you know!
can anyone recommend the best?

that looks alot like battlefield vietnam, are the heli controls on this game supposed to be accurate, like a real filght sim?
 
Several groups have modded CFS2 into a wonderful game. Another has created Over Flanders Field, a WWI genre game from CFS2.

indeed, but IL-2 sturmovik is old too ;)

try IL-2 Forgotten Battles + Ace Expansion Pack + Pacific Fighters (those 3 can be installed merged into eachother.)
or IL-2 sturmovik: 1946 (its basicly IL-2:FB + AEP + PF on 1 dvd, and some experimental jet planes etc added :) )
give me a sec and I'll upload some screenshots :o

(On a sidenote: I have CFS 3 too.. and I cant stand it, i find it to feel a bit cheap compared to the IL2-FB game. )

Dont get me wrong this looks like a good one, but what is all the interest in planes from WWI that are almost a century old, and WWII that are over half a century old?

im sure at the time they were the height of technology, but it is now 2007, and to modern standards, apart from having value as wartime nostalgia, they are rickety-rackety propeller driven sardine tins.

where are the harrier jump jets, apache helicopters, and hellfire missiles?

surely someone has spotted this potential and made a decent up-to-date combat flight sim?
 
precisely what i mean i fed up of flying spitfires and p-51's i want to fly F22's and eurofighters but the only game that there is is lock on and there are only 8 planes to pick from

BF2 is good fun for a dogfight definately, but im talking about realistic flight sim controls similar to those in flight sim 2000 for example.
