Best way to put my fans in?

Should i have back be intake, and front be exhaust area? Or should i spin it the other way around? Also, which way does my fans spin? Does it blow in the direction of whichever side has the fan companies logo in the center? (sorry for the noob question, haha.)

Also, Anyone using a NZXT Apollo case, how do i go about getting the fan on the lower front end? I can't figure out what to unscrew to get the bay out so i can get back there, lol

Thank you very much. :D Kinda makes sense seeing as how everything does that. ohh how stupid of me, haha. Thanks again

EDIT - How about the side fan? Should i have it blowing towards my GPU / CPU?

You can do that either way I think... I would have it sucking air out... Then you'd have two fans pulling the hot air out of your case and one putting cool air back in... does your case have a vent on the side along with the spot for the fan? If so then you can blow it in and hope the hot air gets pushed out of the vent.

My case only has 3 Fan inputs, and no vents that i can see. Right now i have my front fan sucking air in, my side panel fan pushing air in against the gpu and mobo ,and my back sucking out.

Personally I go with one intake only and have that at the front, its also advantageous to add some sort of filter infront of the intake fan too so as to catch the dust particles being drawn in. Believe me these things can drag in a huge amount of dust and i clean out the filters on the front of mine weekly...

Then have all other fans as exhausts to drag the hot air out. I have one top fan and one rear fan located near to the CPU and HSF to draw the air away from it. One more fan is at the base of the case cooling the PSU.

Temps are around 27 degrees for the CPU so it seems to be working :)

Basically my advice is to have one intake so as to limit the amount of dust and crap that is drawn into the system.

So spin my side panel fan around? The only fan on my case that has a filter is actually my side panel, haha. Do you use home made filters? If so ,what do you use? I'm trying to think of things that i could make a mini-filter out of.. hmm... thanks :]

I got the apollo, i have the back exhaust, front intake, side intake and another fan on the otherside of the hdd bays to pull air
I bought a new fan for the exhaust (70 CFM) since the stock only gives a small breeze

To get to the front to put a fan in you have too take both side panels off, unscrew the drive bay (bottom of case and inside) then the front bezel will pop off i think its 3 snaps on each side of the case :)

I have one intake at the front, two on the side and an exhuast at the back.

Jimmy, you got any pictures of your case?

My set-up is like yours ThatGuy... pain in the @ss to do anything with that fan... but if there's no vent you should def have that side fan pulling air out of the case rather than pushing in. I'm thinking about getting the Scythe 5.25" drive bay fan mount and putting a thermaltake 120mm in it to have another intake in the front because I have my cpu fan blowing out at a tunnel/vent and another side vent below that.

I have one system that has 4 fans in the front 2 on the side and 2 in the rear and then I have Huge Zalman on my P4. I use a controller for all those fans have them set at the lowest setting.
I know I am going to get blasted for this, but my rule is if you have some dry ice and have the front suck the smoke it should all be blown out by the exhaust fans rather quickly. This only really works if your side panel has a viewing window in it!!

I never really understood multiple coolers on a HDD, I've never actually understood one really, can you OC HDDs? I've always just kept them in my case with no cooling source on them. Do they really get that hot? And thanks for the help, idk why but i couldn't find my case manual and didnt know if there was an easier way to get it in without taking the bay out.

Which side fan sucks out, the top one cools the northbridge and the bottom cools the GPU...?

Would it drop CPU temps?

Looking at my case, I don't know if it'd be better to have the top side 80mm fan as an exhaust to suck hot air away from the CPU, would that drop CPU temps?

But having it as an intake, blows cool air onto the northbridge, which I may need when I begin to OC, or would it suck the hot air away from the northbridge if it was an exhaust fan?

The bottom 80mm fan blows cool air onto the GPU, which is good as it idles at 42°c
