FS:Antec Earthwatt 380 watt PSU unused - Price Reduction

I just bought a case and it came with an Antec Earthwatt 380 watt PSU. It's new and has never been used. I'm asking for $50 + $5 for shipping. I'll consider offers

honestly i dont see the point of a reply like that...if no one makes him an offer its fair to say eventually he will lower the price to what someone is willing pay...

and ur reply was not called for either, forty's post was to show that a lil better psu was not much more that he may want to try and lower his price a lil bit, urs did nothing to attribute to this..

I would say my post is justified; I have been looking through the For Sale section for some time and see this constantly in threads as the first reply.
To me its just not really called for, the point of my “reply” was to try to point out to those who happen to come read that is not necessary to post such a thing. To be honest it’s actually kind of rude...

(Note: My opinion above only applies to items placed at prices within a reasonable standard)

i'm with fortyways on this one, the price , though possible, could be lowered to be more attractive, as the seller may not even be aware of the deals on newegg.

yeah it is a good idea to let people know if theres a better deal somewhere else.

the OP shouldnt have to wait and then realise it isnt going to sell, this way he knows that it is priced too high so he can work out what it would be best to sell it at.

I didn't post it to spite the seller, but rather to raise awareness for potential buyers.

It's actually pretty rare that the EW380 isn't on sale on Newegg (it's currently the same price as the 430W and 500W versions). I bought mine for $35 there.

Also, a computer I built recently used a case with a bundled EW380 power supply, and the power supply was altered from the retail version. Some cables were longer, some were shorter. It was adjusted for compatibility with the case it was intended to be used with, instead of for wide compatibility with most cases.

The case was the mATX version of the Antec New Solution series. I don't know if the same is true for the ATX version.

Personally, id list it on eBay with a reserve. Good luck on selling it mate. :)

*begins rant* I am with Lion149 on this topic also, I agree it does bring people's awareness, but there is a time and a place, and on the correct style on how to say it. Such as "I know a major retailer have put the 500w model on sale at the same price", rather than pasting a direct link. The warranty on the PSU would be the same, considering it is un-open. I honestly, do find it very rude and annoying when instances such as this happens. (its happened a lot with me). /rant.

So, simply put, you'd prefer if bystanders kept their mouths shut about better deals in order to maintain the ignorance of potential customers so that they will unknowingly pay (you) more for less? Nope, not gonna. That'd be comparable to browsing around in Best Buy while someone is paying them $400 for a monitor that you happen to know is $300 across the street, and choosing to keep that to yourself. Why should I have the seller's interests in mind over the buyer's?

Moreover, here are three reasons the warranty is not the same:

1. When you buy a power supply from Newegg, you get a 1-year warranty directly from Newegg separate from the manufacturer's warranty. I personally would rather RMA to Newegg than to Antec and I know that quite a few people would agree.

2. It's not unopened. It was a case bundle. There is no retail packaging.

3. Technically, the warranty only applies to the original purchaser. Normally this won't cause too much of a problem (unless the manufacturer wants a proof of purchase), but from a strictly legal point of view the second buyer has no warranty at all.

While I understand that fortyways is just trying to help fellow buyers, the seller might take it the wrong way thinking that you are just out to oppose the seller. Now I am not trying to say that fortyways has something against the seller.

What I am trying to say is that I once saw that someone posted a FS thread here and the first post by someone else happens to be of that nature. In the end, the thread became nothing more than an argument between the seller and the first poster. Maybe the seller was having a bad day at that particular time but apparently he took it the wrong way while the first poster's intention is merely raising awareness.

An alternative to directly posting in the thread is maybe a PM to the seller about the price in the market and then post in the thread mentioning that you PM'ed him about the stuff FS. This is just to prevent any misunderstanding.

Sorry for the long post. :p
