oh well, Hello here my name is MasterMind

i'm new to this forum, seems to be up to date. ok

so here's my question:

I'd like to know if i'm buying the correct power supply with the correct size for my case.

Okia / 450-Watt / ATX / 80mm Fan / 20/24-Pin / Power Supply

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1648064&body=MAIN

^ i actually have this one in my computer.

i'm looking to buy this one:

> Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX 12V 33A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=25472&vpn=CMPSU-450VX&manufacture=CORSAIR

My reason for buying this new one is that i'm also looking to buy this:

1- > EVGA E-GEFORCE 8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=27704&vpn=512-P3-N801-AR&manufacture=eVGA

2- So this way i get the sufficiant amount of cables for my whole motherboard and hardwares.

3- and the Corsair Power Supply was recommanded for this type of video card.

Ok. is it ok to buy it?

thank you in advance and have a nice day/night

Nice choice of video card I have the same but SC from EvGA. As for the powersupplies I wouldn't buy those since they are 450watt I would go with 550watt to 650watt. If your gonna go sli in the future you the 450 will be to small. I currently bought this psu for my new build and it comes with alot of cables connectors enough for what you are doing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817815001 its nice psu I have no problems with it. Everything you need comes with it. GL with your build.

That Corsair should be fine, but if you can go for the modular 520W version, the cable managment makes it easier to keep decent airflow which is kind of essential thanks to the weedy cooler nVidia fit to the GT's which unless it has the new BIOS will get HOT, I touched my card after an hour of UT3 before the BIOS upgrade and it was too hot to hold for more than 3-4 seconds.
