Does anyone have this game for the PS3 or 360? Which would you say is the better system to have it on for online play?

Rock Band two was just announced on EB Games, the music list being released... I don't even have Rock Band and I've been a fan of Guitar Hero, so the whole band thing kind of seems interesting to me as well.

The way I was thinking so far... Rock Band for my PS3 and then Rock Band 2 for the 360 which I plan to get sometime in the future.

I can't buy it all right now... parents are keeping me on a spending leash ever since I treated myself to my PS3 a few months ago.

EDIT: I just thought of how retarded that is to get the game for two separate platforms since that'd just give me two sets of the gaming instruments which are meant for that one console. (Unless there is a connector that allows for it to plug into multiple systems?)

So. System to recommend it for of the two above so I can save, hoard until later, etc?

Rock Band 2 will still be able to use the equipment included in Rock Band. So if you are planning to buy Rock Band for your PS3, then just get the game when Rock Band 2 come out.

Save you some money too... which would probably go to other games. :D :D

EDIT: I got the game for 360. So far I haven't tried the online play yet.

I don't know how many play RB on online on the PS3 but for sure, XBL has a lot of people playing RB online. there should be a good number of people playing online though since playing online on the PSN if free.

I need to get Rock Band for Wii. :p

^ Must be nice to have all those RB equipment wireless.

The way mine is set up right now, we got wires all over the place which makes it kinda hard to switch players if I got friends over for a RB marathon session. :(

I say ps3 is the better system for online play, but thats just me, i love my ps3, and rock band is pretty 1337. Cant wait for rock band 2 to come out:D

Better for online play? I'm sorry, but that's a complete joke.

Being that PS3 servers are not maintained as frequently as Live, they just, plain and simple, aren't as good.

I would get it for 360. I heard a while ago somewhere about Guitar Hero being tested on the two consoles, and PS3 was beat hard by 360. Between the signal of the guitar, the guitar itself, and how the game is setup, PS3 was horrible and actually harder to play on.

I would have to disagree with that statement, the i have played guitar hero on a 360, and in short, it was nowhere near as good as guitar hero is on the ps3. So we can all have our own opinions, but i personally think that the ps3 is a far superior console.

Don't turn this into a flaming war each console has it's own benefits and faults and to each their own opinion.

As far as which console to get rock Band for I played it on the 360 and enjoyed it quite a bit, if you have and maintain a Live account I would go for 360, if not go for the PS3.

I AM NOT asking which console is better for the game, I'm asking which ONLINE networks would be the best to use.

I HAVE a PS3, I love it, but I was wondering if it'd be better to wait until I get the Elite to get Rockband.

the 360, uses less power, ps3 can use as much power as a medium sized refridgerator, if your like me and dont honestly care, get the ps3 version lol

Rock band 2 will basically be like guitar hero 2/3, etc. Its an update with different songs than the old one, the instruments are supposed to work from rockband to rock band 2. Id get rockband first then get the rockband 2 the game(without instruments) when it comes out. Unless your planning on getting an xbox 360, the online mode for the ps3 is pretty good. (Also, not to go too off topic, i said we can each have our own opinion on it, there are pros/cons to each console, and i wasnt trying to flame.)

Well you can sing and play guitar or sing and play drums at the same time. I sing and play guitar and do World Tour by myself. Luckily, I can do both on expert.
