-Warning for camera purchases-

I just wanted to warn you guys that a lot of low priced camera stores are really scams. They sell camera's without batteries, they give you the wrong camera and most repair stores don't repair them. Here are a few bad sites you should be aware of.

shopcartusa.com
broadwayphoto.com
fotoconnection.com
lowpricedigital.com
oneclickdigital.com
preferredphoto.com
tvsdepot.com
gbshopping.com
pricingdepot.com
diduprice.com
digitalsaver.com
royalphoto.com
digitalliquidators.com
photodynasty.com

I'll add more when I come across them.

PM me if you found some to add to the list.

You ever hear the story about the guy that ordered a camera off a "genuine" site that had lots of good feedback? They sent him a rock in a box. (literally)

Exactly. They appear on places like google ads, most people would know better than to buy from places like that, and for example, fotoconnection offered the canon rebel xti for $250 cheaper than newegg. Here is an example of a complaint of the website.

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/cameras/fotoconnection.html

They do not include things like batteries, have problems with your credit card ect.

edit: Atleast 15 complaints of fotoconnection.com listed on consumeraffairs.

This made me laugh so much, the thought of a guy being all excited to find a rock in a box and the look of dissapointment on his face :p

I'd hate it to happen to me and it shouldn't happen to anyone else but the situation is a little strange and funny

One big thing no one has said yet is you need to ensure the site you're ordering from is an Authorized Dealer for the brand you are planning to buy. If ANYTHING is purchased from a non-authorized dealer you can kiss your warranty good buy.

Alot of those low priced companies also do bait and switch, claiming you ordered a camera with japanese menus etc, offer to "upgrade" you to the english version for $150, and when you say no that camera "goes out of stock".
