TV Resolution Question (Help)

Well, I was looking around at some TVs on Newegg.com (for when it comes to Canada) for ideas on a TV I could get for up in my room for gaming and such.

Now... if a game is capable to get 1080p with the consoles HDMI cables do you need a TV that is capable of 1080p to experience the full effect or would a 720p TV be able to get the same effects as a 1080P one?

... hope that makes sense.

SImply put, you need a 1080P TV to see a 1080P picture. Now a game capable of 1080P will display just fine on a lower resolution. I'm pretty sure you have to set the resolution in the PS3's system menus (it's a system wide setting no need game to game) as well or it will be 480i.

I kind of figured... I should maybe go fiddle with the resolution settings in the PS3's systems menu to get some better quality from my games, if it'd work with the TV I'm currently using.

1080p 37inch TVs are so expensive...

You need a 1080P tv to display a 1080P resolution. Mind you though, that alot of Ps3 games are displayed in a max of 720p/1080i. Many of the games now come out on 1080P...it all depends on ify ou truly care. A 37" 1080P tv may/may not be worth buying, its truly up to whether you want to spend the extra cash. The difference is there, but 720P isn't horrid.
