Hey guys,

At work i use outlook and i find it a great piece of software! i dont want to fork out and buy it so are they any alternatives to this?

freeware is what im after and ideally i would like it to have pretty much the same functionality! also im using Vista!

it will be used with my personalised email accounts so no hotmail or gmail accts etc.

Thanks

James.

It only checks for new mails when you open it and downloads them. I know because i use it. It really like it.

cool :) so do you have to prompt the mails to be downloaded say after you have had it open for any hour?

with outlook it sends/recieves and you say for example set it to check for new mails every 10 mins.

also i need to import all of my contacts and old emails from outlook. can i do this and is it possible with mozilla? :D

I think you can if they are stored in the the e-mail account.
And i forgot to say :D thunderbird checks for new mails when you open it and as long as it is opened (checks like every few minutes)
