Help picking out a graphic card!

Hi Everyone!
Wow, it’s been a while!! I want to upgrade my graphics card on my computer and I’m looking to spend under $100. I’m looking for something with a little more power than my current value card 8400 GS.
I’m a casual gamer; I play mostly role playing, strategy and a little first person shooter. I’m not looking to play games on max setting, but I would like the quality and frame rate to be improved. I also do some video editing and design work on this computer. I’m not really looking for a workstation card, but something which will handle games and design work. Any suggestions or ideas, advice, what to stay away from?? I’m probably going to buy it off of Newegg when I do, so any links would be helpful!!
Nvidia products preferably!
Thanks for your expertise!

Thanks for all your help! I went with the EVGA 8600 GT SCC Edition (256 MB GDDR 3). Hopefully I will see some improvement over my 8400 GS. My only consern is the stock power supply and cooling, but I'll be upgrading that shortly. Thanks for the help!

8800GT is an excellent card. If you can stretch the budget to one of those..maybe ~$110 on eBay if you bid carefully, then you will be well pleased.

Total cost for the 8600 was around 85, with shipping! I'm very happy with Newegg! Ordered on Monday and received it this morning!!
