Spore = Brilliance.

Here is the main screen where you can start a new game or continue one already in progress. Basically you select a planet, and you will start from the cell stage. You select carnivore or herbivore, name your planet, and you are off.



You start off as a tiny cell. In this picture I am the see through green cell with the duckbill platypus, and I have to eat the little red things around the screen while avoiding the bigger, stronger cells. You only have to eat five before moving on to the next stage of being a cell.




In this screen, a giant cell has just come and slaughtered another cell my size, and I was able to collect his horn left on his cell corpse. I am now making a booty call for another cell to come mate with me so that I can evolve and use the horn for myself. The sonar waves you see are the calls of passion being made by me in the center, and my mate is approaching from the left. Overall this stage of the game is so cute that it is impossible not to love it, and the sound effects will make you pee your pants the first time you hear them.




In this screen I have just gotten it on with that other cell, and have evolved into an upgraded version with protective spikes shooting out my ass, and a cooler looking set of eyes. This is as far as I have gotten, and I am already hooked on this game. (literally about 3 minutes in)


I wasn't very excited about this game whenever I first heard of it. I don't know why, but it just didn't give me my jollies. I came into contact with a copy of it a few days ago and thought what the hell? EVERYONE SHOULD GET THIS GAME. It will run on everyones computers on the boards without issues. I have a feeling this game is going to be bigger than big.

I have grown a LOT since the last screen I posted although it may be hard to tell. I have mated a few times, evolved a few times, and I here you can see a fellow Motosakus out trying to make it in the cell world



Motosakus is now a force to be reckoned with. We control most of the cell world.... I added extra tentacles for more speed, and I now shoot out electricity from my sides whenever another creature gets near me



Motosakus took over the cell pool and sprouted a pair of legs... my tribe made landfall and now I am in the creature portion of the game... what is awesome about this is that it is now community based. before in the cell pool you would see your fellow cell species but they wouldnt really interact with you unless you were mating. now you all live in a nest together and its you against the world

i know im turning into the annoying guy at work that always wants to show you pictures of his kids... but i cant help it. this game rocks.

current creature. you get points addeded to every attribute you have on your creature. the 3 pair of legs with the hooves makes it very fast and suited for ramming things. the horns do as well. the plates on its legs are all for armor, and the plantlike things on its back at the top are all for charming other creatures. but its way better at killing them

I think Spore will be a hit, bigger than The Sims 2 (they had 10+ milion solds with this game). It sounds so cool and so fun...

I got mine in the post this morning after ordering yesterday...

I wish you could spend more time in the pond collecting DNA and adding spikes and things to your creature. I wasn't quit ready to leave when it was time to evolve. I know you could stay, but it doesn't let you collect any more DNA and upgrade your little guy.

you don't have to man! to advance from one stage of the game to another, you have to click the icon in the bottom right of the screen. otherwise you can continue on for as long as you like. keep in mind I mean from stage to stage, ie from cell phase to creature phase, creature to tribal etc. the little cutscenes that happen whenever you make it a certain percentage through the progress bar and it shows your brain getting larger, you have no control over.

Have to say I'm a little disappointed now that I'm in Tribal. I was expecting to evolve a lot more appearance wise but you can't change that any more.

I spent extra time in Creature mode to get my stats mostly maxed out. It doesnt matter once you reach civilization which im at now, but playing on hard Civ is tough!

Screw designing your creature, I think making tanks and aircraft is more fun.

Hmm looks really interesting. It definitely goes on my list of games to try.

i havent gotten that far yet, cant wait for it though

I think thus far the creature phase is my favorite, I have not gotten to space yet, but Im having a blast going around slaughtering other colonies and fighting epics!
