is it true that they fixed the programming of this game since it's still the same engine i think, and now you can play on med/high with decent frames on a 8600?

looks good anyway. ;)

If it plays smooth with some settings turned on, with the rig I posted in my Warhead thread, it'll be great.

Yeah, they were supposed to work on the coding so that it would run much better this time around. It's a damn good idea because Crysis was absolutely Horrid for stable framerates

depends on the system you try to run it on! :p but yea, crysis is/was a bit very hard to run propperly on a pc. CoD4 for example showed that it doesnt have to be hard to have a good lookign game while still having good framerates too. (tough.. the maps in crysis are a tab bigger,.. and the physics are better)

I dunno, it should have run a hell of a lot better on my computer than it was. I'm blaming 64 bit windows..cause it ran fine when it was 32 bit, even with the hd2600 pro in it.

Can't compare COd to Crysis.

Cod is just next gen graphics with a building surrounded by 2D distant scapes. Crysis has a fully modeled island and high end physics count all the trees and stones and people and other stuff in the Crysis island times all that by how many squares you think the models are made up of and you end up with a very hard game to run. Crysis is like a graphics and physics experiment to push forward the gaming experience whereas Cod is just another standard game that was designed to run on an ageing computer.

Well do you guys know if it will run better? Crysis is barely playable on my computer, but I'm pretty sure my processor is my bottleneck. My frames go everywhere from 55-15 fps on medium settings. I was looking at the system requirements and they look exactly the same.

Looks much of the same blandness as before, Aliens, GFX that even top spec boxes struggle on max and overly large men in supersuits...

Can we have a new AND INTERESTING FPS yet?

very true, I found the combat as generic as the weapon sounds

Just finished Crysis in preparation for this coming out, but ive just learned that it might be another 'fantastic' DRM setup like Spore.

EA -
