MS Office Licensing Question

So I grabbed MS Office Ultimate from the Ultimate Steal thing that they do for university students. Apparently it is a single license so I understand that once I install it I can't use that same CD-Key on any other computer. My question is, if I uninstall it in the future will I be able to reinstall on another computer using that CD-Key?

thanks in advance

It might be the same as windows OS, if you do a format, you should be able to call up and say it is a reinstall and MS give you new serial....

So long as the license says it can only be installed on one system at a time, rather than one system period, then yes, you can uninstall it from the current, and reload it on another.

Ok thanks. Just to clarify it wasn't free, i still had to pay $64 and another $10 for a back-up DVD. Still not much compared to the $800 or so that it is retail.

I'm pretty sure when you get software like that, it is a single license. I.E. it can only be on 1 computer at a time so uninstalling it and reinstalling it is usually fine.

i dont know though, the student copies of visual studio and server 2003 are single user EVER, then again, they are free.

Yeah this isn't through our school though. We have the MSDN (or something like that) where we have to sign into our school accounts to get free software.

The MS office offer comes directly from Microsoft and is only available for a limited time offer. You just put in your school email and they verify it exists I guess.

They also have Vista Ultimate upgrade for $70 starting Oct. 24.

from Office 2007 EULA

15. REASSIGN TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may reassign the license to a different device any number of times, but not more than one time every 90 days. If you reassign, that other device becomes the “licensed device.” If you retire the licensed device due to hardware failure, you may reassign the license sooner.

This probably applies to most other MS software too.
