I have heard people have gotten it to go up to 3.4 GHz. How do you do it though? I'm a nub at OC and don't want to screw anything up =/

Basically, you go into the BIOS and then just raise the FSB. Obviously it's a little more complicated than that but that's basically what you do. It sounds easy and it is.

I have been running mine at 3.4Ghz for the last year or more with great temps using a nirvana cooler (sp?).. I have been stable at 3.6 but it gets a little iffy up there.

dont be scurrd to mees anything up. its hard to mess up a computer from overclocking now days, but be sure you know how to do a CMOS reset!..

Q6600 question

i didnt want to make a whole thread about it so i decided to ask my question here um im thinking about getting Q6600 should i stick with getting one or go for the Q8200 and spend the extra bit of $ um just wondering what yall think

other then that i never overclocked a computer as high as i hear you can overclock the Q6600

just wondering what makes Q8200 better then 6600 besides fsb speeds?

i have overclocked b4 but never really went that deep into it and i was wondering what you think i should do which one should i get really thanks and will the Q8200 run cooler then Q6600

smaller die size,
i quite sure it will run cooler as the q8200 is a 45nm chip and the q6600 is 65mn, the q8200 is 66 MHz slower and has less L2 cashe,
if i was you i'd get the q6600, its a really good chip and can overclock really well
