windows 2000 os.....same for pc and lap top?

tried to install wind2000 upgrage to 98 machine. reformated drive to ntfc? and its stopped halfway through install.. stuck at...installing devices.....

its a touch screen laptop cf27 panasonic.... ANY suggestions?

im lost n in BIG TROUBLE!

over 12 hours now, it hasnt moved...what do i do? its stuck...

i turned it off, and restarted. it started up as windows 2000. went back to installing device screen..."please wait"

any suggestions? its already formatted to ntfs. and its looking for drivers..."installing devices"

any ideas/thoughts/advice?
