Advanced Configuration and Power Interface, this is essentially a protocol developed by Intel, MS and Toshiba that allows for the OS to control the amount of power going to specific devices as to cut power uses for devices not in use or what not.
When I start up my brother's AMD Duron 800 mhz computer it stops the IRQ sequence when it reaches the ACPI Controller. If you need visual I can take a digital picture of what the screen says. But is there anyway to fix it, or does it mean the mobo is finished?
Theres nothing much to "fix" ... either it's there or its not (older mobo use CPI methinks) ... if you have problems try running in CPI mode; sounds like a crummy OS config to me htough.
