ummm im not sure this is in the right place but whatever, i got a controller for my computer today and im trying to play some fps games with it but all i get is the forward and backwards movements, no firing or anything, how do i set these to work right

if the game detects your gamepad, you should be able to configure the buttons in the option menu.

Yeah the game has to be able to support the contoller/pad/joystick, whatever you are using.

Check in control pannel to verify that windows recognized it as well. Also post what controller youre using.

alright well i got the controller working but now when i play rise of the argonauts the directional controls are backwards.

Yes one important thing to get the controller working correctly is I assume you have Vista.

Go to Control Panel "game controllers" which then Vista will auto set it...then you can go to advance/properties and ensure each are set/configured correctly.

I had the same issue though it was for my USB to PS2 controller adapter.

Gamepad. Gamepad?! HUH?!?!?

I own the same controller (at least one very similar) and it worked decently. However, after little use the axis's got messed up and would cause the joysticks to move without my input in game.

If you're games are having trouble playing them there is software that you can configure for each game and boot so that your options are applied. I don't remember the controller software name, it was a pain to use but see what you can find out there. Best of luck.
