lemme just say, that this game is ok. mot the greatest but not too bad.

Right now im playing with everything on high with smooth frame rates...

It looks amazing, but I feels like im playing it on Xbox, it doesnt have that "sharpness" i like about having the game on PC. Its slow, and takes long to get into.

If only activision could make a came like that, with that story and graphics, just call of duty gameplay...

The nice thing about it is that the languages they speak are from south Africa (Afrikaans, Zulu and english)

so that a cool point for me as im from south africa (and i can understand them when they speak...)

i just got it a few hours ago too,i posted this up in the recently purchased items post

Well ive played the first half hour of the game and i must say im actualy realy impressed,Its like Crysis but ithink the gameplay is alot smoother.

I have it on Very High settings with 4x AA @ 1680x1050 res and no hiccups whatsoever.

Love the weapon jamming aswell, makes the game fun when your in the middle of a shootout and it jams lol you have to hide behind something and try and un jam it or switch to another weapon.

i dont know why it was voted worst game of 2008.

i might try Ultra high later see how it runs.

thanks for the thread jack... :p

Another thing I hate, is that you have to shoot a guy 6 -10 times with an LMG to kill him...

i think the graphics are better than Crysis. game play is leaving something to be desired though, and the dialog and story is a bit confusing. these guys just sort of mumble when they give you a mission, actor voice overs are pretty poorly done.

graphically though, it's probably one of the best things i've seen yet. some of these textures are just about as photo-realistic as you can get. the blades of grass and leaves swaying as you walk through them is sick too. theres a ton of shadow and lighting detail, it's amazing just looking around the map.

it's just nice to see what's on the horizon graphically, i gotta update my CPU and Graphics card soon.

I'd say Far Cry 2 is an awesome game. Yes, being South African and knowing all the languages in the game they speak is an up-sider, and weird as well sometimes. I hate the fact that if you leave your location/area, come back, then there will be a new set of guys waiting for you with Homelanders that all look slightly fimilair.

The games graphics are as good as real life standards go. It is in some ways not realistic though. Such as you fix a cars engine and the next second there no smoke.

The fire is pretty realistic, but it doesn't look as good as it is on the cover. It goes out too fast. Awesome game in the end. It got 5 reviews in PCFormat South Africa. (Look out for me in the letters in the January issue, my name's Zak du Plessis.

I don't agree, Crysis is a much better looking game. I've played both of these games on high settings.

Farcry is OK but I lost interest with after about 3-4 hours of gameplay. I'd much preffer to play Farcry (the first) again. The map editer is great though! I find myself playing with the Crysis map editor more. I rarely find time anymore for games though :(.

Zak, why did you revive an oldish thread?

Its a very good looking game. I also lost inrest, and played bit by bit.

But when I got to 31%, it started getting VERY intresting, and it stops being monotonous.

Now I cant stop...

i liked crysis but it took a lot to keep interest in it, how good does far cry2 keep you in, is there almost always something to do other than the main objectives or is it just a go do this and that kind of thing?
