Hey guys, i lost all the pictures off my HD and don't have the money to get them off at the time. I have this dvd slideshow/video that i made and i would like to open it with windows movie maker and set up a title and all that for it. I need to render it to mpeg or something that windows movie maker Or Sony vegas will read. I tried to open it with Sony Vegas and then i could render it as Mpeg2 but Vegas only read the video and not the audio. I have video in it in between songs so i cant just add new music tracks.
So i need some free program that will let me convert a .VOB file to MPEG. Or something that Sony Vegas will read then i can render as MPEG.
Any help would be great
thanks.
EDIT: I just downloaded 2 but they both have a watermark! I only need it once!
Anyone know of one that has a trial that will let you do it to like 3? without the watermark?

Extract the entire DVD as on giant .VOB file and change the extention to .MPG. "Should" work....

Look for a programme called SUPER

Will convert almost any video file you can throw at it to almost any format.

The website's a bit crappy tho, takes a bit of combing through it to get a download link. worth it tho.

Ok! thanks so much. I got SUPER. It's a cool program. But, i need to render the .vob file to a file type that windows movie maker will recognize. I rendered the video as a WAV file so the file says "file.vob.wav" and windows media player reads that! but when i try to put the .vob file in (which has video and music) it says the following

C:\Documents and Settings\change\My Documents\My Movies\VTS_01_1.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from

Any help please?
What can i render the .vob file as to where windows media player will read it?

So no matter what i do, i get this:
C:\Documents and Settings\change\Local Settings\Application Data\Sony\Vegas Movie Studio PE\9.0\Renders\sue4-7-09.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from

Any idea what it means?

Here is a screenshot of how I do it. It does go into movie maker but you have to click down on the dropdown for type of file and choose 'all files' and then it recognises it and works fine.

SUPER is a great program, but for me, it seems to be a little temperamental. Actually, or video conversion software has given me issues. It's hard to find one that does everything perfectly.

SUPER is the best I've seen out there so far. But for some reason some videos will convert one day and then not the next so I'm not sure. Good luck though.
