I'm an IT director in need of buying the cheapest video card that supports the native resolution of 1440x900. I would like it in PCI, but AGP 2x would work. any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure about the least expensive part, but I know a 9400 GT is completely capable of that... any recent nVidia card should have a custom resolution setting in the control panel. I'm not sure if the 8500 GT has it or not as it's older, but I know for a fact that the 9400GT does.

The cheapest 9400 GT on Newegg with good reviews: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187036

I don't know a ton about ATI cards (which are generally less expensive than nVidia cards), so you may want to look into those as well.

Yea PCI or AGP 2x

Oh, when I think of PCI I automatically think of PCI-E, unfortunately I'm not too familiar with PCI cards, so I'll have to sit out on this one. Sorry 'bout that.

This is not a high powered card by any means, but from what you are saying it sounds like its just needed for basic usage. So this would probably work for you(it is a very old model though):

Funny, that's the same one I was just looking at. As I said though, I know next to nothing about PCI GPUs so I can't really recommend it or anything. :p
