Hey guys.

Im getting about an avg of 30 frames in Crysis (Im in the spaceship)

In forest stages, I get an avg of 35...

This seems too little. i have all settings on high, at 1440x900, and 2xAA, 16xAF

What do you guys think?

I think that your CPU is your bottleneck there. Your video card is very nice, but your CPU could use a little boost.

I want to get a Core i7, but I really dont have the money for it.

Here in South Africa, It will cost $750 to get 3x2Gig DDR3 1333 RAM, Core i7 920, and the Gigabyte X58-UD4 Mobo... If I get the UD3 mobo, I can drop the price to bout $650... The only diff that i see with the UD3 and 4 is that the UD3 has one triple channel, and an extra slot, (4 slots) and the UD4 has 6 slots...

Thats way TOO much.

I would get a Quad, but there is no point buying older architecture...

Not true!

Theres no point whatsoever atm to go out and buy an I7....theres just no need for all that power.

Like ive said many times, current quad cores can fly through just about anything you throw at them.

get yourself a nice skt 775 quad core, a Q9450 would be awesome in that setup :good:

Yeah, that FPS seems about right. Don't forget;

1) You're running 2X AA.
2) You're running a pretty high resolution.
3) It's still Crysis.

you could always get like a Q6600 or a Q8400, and sell the CPU you have now.

i get about 40 frames in crysis on high, 1360x768, 2xAA, i think.

I definitely agree. Turn off the AA and you should notice a big difference.

EDIT: And that CPU is definitely another part of the issue, an upgrade would be a good idea. :)

as i said, i want to upgrade. Crysis is playable. but I want to get the most out of it all...

I measured yesterday, I get an average of 40 in forest stages, 25 in the ship...

But in its defense, my cards settings is set to max quality... not balanced, or performance...

CoD4 on the other hand.... Wow.

Full graphics, and im hitting 150 + (on more intensive stages) and maxing at 200 on others...

EDIT: I installed new drivers. I got a 10 frame increase in CoD4 (spawned as a spetz on creek, before i was getting 130 frames, now im getting about 144...

Crysis I managed to get 5 more frames, woohoo!
