emerald not working with opensuse

i just installed opensuse 11.1. i cant seem to get emerald themer to work at all. i have compiz working, and i can open the emerald themer, but it doesnt change my theme. emerald --replace does nothing. anyone have any ideas?

Is it loading in XGL mode?
