A huge and mysterious (?) PC problem

Hello there guys :D I'm posting my problem here after a long time... It's really a big one, in my opinion... I totally believe in you guys.
Also, if this is a wrong section, please understand me, as I've been away for a long time.

I'll tell you everything that you need to know about this problem. Maybe more, but if less, just ask.

Like 3 months ago my computer starting bugging me: It became slower and eventually started to freeze for no reason. For example, when I turn on my computer and then my msn...it freezes so I have to restart him. In most cases it would work, but then I started to receive more and more BSoD-s. Googling them brought some strange results and suggestions, none of them I could test except one I didn't want to at the time: Change my power supply.

Also, when it freezes and when I restart it, in most of the times I would get an error after the first 3 beeps ( before the Windows screen ). I can't remember it now exactly but I'm sure it said something about the memory damage.

So I took it to where I bought my computer. It's relatively new and it's under warranty so I can't fix it myself ( it has some sealing tapes for security measures ). I told them to change my RAM, and they did so.

I've been using it for like...another month or so without any problems and then the exact same problem appeared. So I brought them back to the shop right, and they decided to send it to Zagreb where their headquarters is. I've got it back like 3 days ago, didn't have the time to install and set everything up until today. They changed the motherboard AND RAM now and when I turned it on today, set everything up, noticed that my download and browsing speed has increased a lot now ( yey! ), and BAM! It froze. I restarted, no errors...and it froze again. I got pissed off.

What could be the problem? I mean, they must have taken my request seriously now, as they changed the motherboard and RAM and kept my PC there for almost a month...it must have worked there. But now, in my house, in exact same power supply and conditions, it's not working again.

Is it power supply, is it something else, or is it AGAIN incompatible hardware?
Your opinions matters, I'm so desperate that I'll try anything you guys suggest or ask me.
Ask for more info if needed, my configuration is pretty average, suits my needs though as I'm currently programming and...well all I do is listen to some music while doing usual PC work.

Thanks in advance, this surely isn't an easy one...

P.S. hmm...maybe it's also important to know that: I now plugged my laptop in the same power port ( extension cord! ) as I did to my PC and it's still running smoothly...

I dont think its the power supply, they will usually cause it to restart or just flat out shut down. If it was running fine untill what you called (set everything up). It could be a program or driver your installing. Do you remember the last thing you did before it started freezing this time?

I agree with Stanglehold, It isn't heat, shouldn't now be hardware so start again with a clean install with only the bare minimum you need to work with your computer. Run like that for a while and see how it goes.
I've got a similar problem with my USB TV stick, the software would cause freezing of Windows Explorer. It's now uninstalled with just the stick drivers installed but no software at the moment.

Hmm yeah I've been thinking about it; maybe it's that msn plus app. Nothing else connects my previous Windows SP2 problem and my new Windows SP3 one.

But I don't see how it would be a problem...I'll try running it without turning msn on at all and I'll report back to you.

Thanks for helping me, you're so damn fast :good:
