I have no earthly idea why my computer is raping me

ok cool i just ordered it....what about the fan does it come with the CPU or do i buy a new one off of newegg?

if not what fan do i need to get? any particular size that only fits my processor/socket?

its amd 3800+ with socket 939

ok so my cpu arrived no fan...i called up a computer shop here in town and they have one im going to go get it...is that the only thing i need or do i need a "heat sink" as well

If your CPU came without a fan then it wont have a heatsink either, you'll need to pick one up. When you go down to your local computer shop just ask for a heatsink for your Socket type, theres a 95% chance that the heatsink will come with a fan, Just ask , they will probably think you're just looking for a fan alone right now.

yeah just got back from the store..fan came with heatsink...fit right in....

so yeah it was my brother after all who decided to go christopher columbus on my computer while i was gone

pretty funny how you guys caught him online ....i knew it in the back of my head but i thought whatever its irrelevant just needed to use my comp

haha...i usually go through computers every 3 to 4 years but this pc has held up surprisingly well

I think with a 1 gb ram upgrade or something this will run flawless

probably will last another year to two years then ill have to try my hand at building one for myself

Well it really looks like a Video card problem to me. But still i got a bad filling that it's also a mother board problem. Lets hope that it's not.

my brother cracked open my pc when i was gone and fried the processor in the process haha

i was gonna give him a pass i figured new processor $40 who cares what caused it its done i gotta get a new one whether he fried it or not

but yeah you guys were spot on

ahh thanks for the reminder lol

although i notice ..not a lot...but just a teeny bit...that my 3700 was better

why is that? is it because of the L2 Cache? thats the only difference....even though 3800 is 200 mhz faster right
