Considering ordering v10?

Absolutely not...that would be a huge mistake.

MAXIMUMPC magazine did a review of it a few months back, it was the worst cooler they ever tested. It got a 4 of 10 rating.
http://www.maximumpc.com/article/reviews/cooler_master_v10

- The thing was soo big they could not even get 3 motherboard screws in.

- The thing is soo big you have to remove it to access your RAM. That means taking the motherboard out.

- This thing weights almost 3 pounds!

- The cooling is just a little better than a stock Intel cooler.

If the Coolermaster V8 is not giving you the results you are looking for then you need to water cool.:D What are your temps with the V8 anyway?

Haha Ive been looking to watercool but to have a loop with my 295 would cost way to much. And I appreciate showing me that review but I have seen many others saying instalation was a little hard but not to bad. With there benchmarks they really didnt give the TEC a chance to kick in because it will only kick in on high temperatures. This is noted in many other reviews which made the v10 a great contender. Untill the TEC kicks in all the v10 is just a normal aftermarket cooler. With my v8 I did a batched job at the thermal paste because i had to reaply so many times. (The first time I installed the v8 it was upside down!) but orginally i was getting idle temps in the low to mid 30s. Now its extremely dusty and the temps are up to low to mid 40s.

i think it also only has something like a 50 watt tec on it, which by today's standards doesn't do diddly squat

it may be crap but it looks hella good :p

like was said, you won't get much better than the v8 on air so far as temps go, would be quite a bit of a waste to get a v10

it has 4 80mm fans cooling 2 aluminum heatercore radiators with a copper block, that's just corrosion waiting to happen, not to mention with the 400 dollar price tag you could get a real watercooling setup to handle both your cpu, and gpu

I really like the whole Idea of a case integrated with the watercooling. And i heard an antec 1200 is a B**** to watercool. But you seriouslly think that would be a bad idea? If I sold my 1200 and v8 it wouldnt be that much more.

If your looking for the best air cooler its the prolimatech megahalems. But for water, the 1200 is fine for cpu only with say, a double feser, ek 250, mcp355 with aftermarket top, heatkiller waterblock, 1/2" tubing, etc. Hint though, if you go water run distilled plus silver as biocide. That case I would stay away from, copper+aluminum=bad.

More or less, yes. You either want all aluminum blocks or all copper in a loop, mixing metals= galvanic corrosion.

You can get a small water cooling system for the price of this its crazy, looks like its something you pay for so you can say I have got a v10 and also so it looks great inside your case.
