Gmail Spam....

Hey guys,

Anyone who use Gmail here been getting alot....and i mean alot of spam recently?...im getting like 20 spams a day.

emails like offers to buy things,Porn,You have won (such and such) type of emails?

2 of my friends use gmail too and say they have the same problem,I contacted Google about it and they said they were aware that theres a spam problem at the moment and theyre looking into the issue :cool:

been like this for a month or so now.

Im always carefull to who/what sitei give me email address too....so i dont know how ive been somehow subscribed to all teh spam :D

u kidding ? i get spam like everyday... though my gmail account is barely at use. I use my hotmail, yet my hotmail barely gets spam

I've been using Gmail for about a year and a half and I haven't recieved any sort of spam at all...unless you consider Borders reward coupons as spam.

I'm really careful on who or what I give my e-mail to.

Well....its only been this past month or so its started been like this,Ive had this account for well over 2 years now and it never was like this so im wondering if somehow my email address got into the wrong hands and they sighned me up to a load of spam :cool:

What other email you recommend?

i get around 100 spam a day. it goes straight to spam folder so i dont care, right now i think i have about 6500 in there.

Well, I get a lot of spam - but nothing that the filters don't catch. So everything is working fine for me :) I hope it all gets sorted out for you soon.

I rarely get any spam that isn't just filtered into my spam box. It helps if you mark and spam so that any future similar messages get filtered as well.

Well ive actualy applied all those spam emails to my spam filter...and still they are finding their way back to me.

ive also noticed,I keep getting messages from a postmaster saying that a recent email i sent failed to send or something.....and gives me the adress it tried sending it too.

the thing is i never actualy sent an mail to that site,so im thinking that something is trying to forward me emails to someone else or something.

All seems a bit iffy atm,Im considering shutting down my account and looking into an alternative email service.

Alot of members on the gmail forums have reported the same problems for months.

I get the same amount. Around 20 a day...

At one point in time I did "something" which got me around 100 spam emails a day. After a while I unsubscribed from each one and now am left with around 20 a day from Nigerian scammers and the usual "size enhancement" medication.

I have no idea how to stop them from coming.

I get like 1 spam a day with my Gmail. Rarely 2 a day.. But SOMETIMES, if you click on the spam email (I wouldn't suggest clicking on the "porno" ones that you mentioned.. just because.... lol) and scroll to the bottom there is usually an unsubscribe button... Maybe that'll help?

Nope. On most spam emails, clicking unsubscribe only helps the spammer confirm that they're sending spam to an active email address.

Ah.. You're right.. My friend went on a vacation for a few days and got back to his Gmail which had 3,000 spam emails in it.. :O
