Is it possible to overclock this?

this computer runs really slow.... after i buy the hdd from sup2jzgte would overclocking ( if it's possible) make this run better or is this computer too old.. it has 512 mb of ram... would adding another 512 help also?

seeing as your mobo is MSI you may be able to OC. but, you probably wont see a noticable increase in performance. adding RAM should help a lot though.

I agree with that he said above, There may be some Over clocking options in your bios so have a look,Thats the only real way to tell.

If there isn't any options you could always do it through windows using an app called Clockgen.

But personally i don't think it's worth it, It's a budget low end processor and I highly doubt you will notice all that much of a difference.

Going from 512 of ram to 1gb would give it some boost.

If you feel that its too slow for your needs,Its time to upgrade my friend. :)

this is just a i wanna say back up or internet/ homework machine.....just don't want it to take so long to boot up, open programs, etc.

Ahh okay....well in that case i suggest getting that extra 512mb of ram,or if you can get your hands on a cheap 1gb stick get that and have 1.5gb..

Give the system a defrag,uncheck anything in msconfig that you dont want/need starting up with windows.

better alternative if you have the xp disk..re-install windows fresh :)

sounds good.. so overclocking is basically a waste then? well maybe i'll give it a try since this computer is old....i can "practice" lol.. i want to try and overclock my other computer in my signature when i get an after market cpu cooler.... don't want to mess up on that one though...

You know all of those icons on your desktop slows your computer down... it's always good to keep everything you don't use often in a folder.
