Behold AMD's, and soon aimed to be the industry's most powerful graphics accelerator: Radeon HD 5870 X2 "Hemlock". Armed with two "Cypress" Radeon HD 5870 graphics processors, this dual-GPU monstrosity packs twice the shader compute power. From the looks of it, the card is slightly longer than its single-GPU sibling from the series, and is better ventilated, although the cooler design more or less resembles it. It draws its power from one 6+2 pin and one 6 pin PCI-E power connectors, just like two of its ancestors in the R700 and R680. Listed for pre-order on a European online store, a Radeon HD 5870 X2 by Club3D is priced at 677 EUR (incl. applicable taxes, 568.9 EUR excluding).

677 Euro:eek: That is $994 by the exchange rate today!

That's just a stupid price...all to play a $30 game.

Look at the bright side, instead of running 70 FPS in the new Call of Duty...you can run 400 FPS!

What a joke

I agree with scout...It is over the top and no game even realy needs all that power yet.

But it is nice!!! :D

I can barely fit my 4870 in my case, let alone that mofo. If I didn't have a form actor HDD as my primary drive, it wouldn't fit!

And $933 is overkill. But Crysis would be begging for mercy!

I'm still a bit knew to the computer world. other graphic cards usually even near that size?

Well each new generation of card seems to be getting bigger and bigger.

Take a look at 7600GT - 8800GT and GTX 260 the size seems to go like 2-3 inches each time ^-^

Sounds like these new cards will need a full tower :p

My antec 900 will fit it though because its how it does buisness.

My case has just enough room for my 3870 and enough for the 4850 that should be arriving next week, but there is no was i could fit that mofo in my case. the 4850 is 9" and i think it's huge! that 5870x2 must be like 11-12"

EDIT: seeing as it's a full height card why don't they just make the PCB taller and cut some length off of it?

Rumor has it...you have to plug it straight into a wall outlet for power.
Nah, it has pcie power connectors on it:p

Also, where you guys getting pricing info from? The only thing i saw about 677 euros was some article from february, which is totally inaccurate as it was still talking about DX 10.1, not DX11. This thing is supposed to retail for $599 from what i have heard from people. ATI wouldnt retail a dual gpu card for more than what two of the standard gpu's themselves retail for...
